A beautifully finished, three-storey cottage, this enticing retreat in Port Mulgrave is ideal for a family or group of friends. Sleeping six people, the three-bedroom property is 350 metres from the small village’s harbour and beach, with its many rock pools. Venture out on a 4-mile, circular walk, taking you along the clifftops to Staithes. Head inland as well to strike out through the North York Moors National Park, with its myriad of footpaths. Plan a day trip into Whitby, 9.5 miles away, to peruse its many colourful shops and to choose between a variety of cafes, pubs and restaurants for dining out. While you are here, climb the famous 199 steps up to see the remains of the abbey.
Let yourselves into the cottage at ground-floor level, making your way through the charming, bright kitchen, where you can hang your coats and bags and where will find everything you need to help you prepare tasty meals. Wander on into the welcoming lounge/diner, which has ample space for everyone to gather around the table to dine together and a wood burner in an exposed brick fireplace. Stoke this up on chilly days, then find a good film on the Smart TV, and sit back and relax. There is also a utility room on this floor. At the end of each fun-filled day, climb the stairs up to the first floor of the cottage to find two double bedrooms and the family bathroom. Make your way up to the second floor to discover the final bedroom, a twin, with TV.
Bask in the sunshine on warm days on the decked terrace to the rear of the cottage. Dine out here at the table on occasion and enjoy a glass of chilled wine as the sun goes down.
