An enticing stone cottage, with a wealth of original features, this delightful Yorkshire property offers an abundance of both comfort and character. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom, two-storey retreat, is set in the village of Gunnerside, in Swaledale. Lace up your walking boots and head straight out on scenic walks through Swaledale. Stroll through the valley of Gunnerside Gill or embark upon a 6-mile hike up to the Buttertubs, a cluster of unusual, limestone potholes, with far-reaching views, near a pass linking Swaledale and Wensleydale. Plan a trip into the historic town of Richmond, 16 miles away, to shop, dine out and visit the castle; also spend time at Easby Abbey, 1 mile out of Richmond, while you are here.
Climb a flight of stone steps up to the front door of this Yorkshire village home. Let yourselves into the beamed, farmhouse-style kitchen/diner. Dine together at the table in here or pull out a chair to pause for a while over a cup of fresh coffee from the machine. Spend evenings with your family or friends in the gorgeous lounge, where there are more beams and a beautiful, flagstone floor. Bask in the heat of a roaring wood burner, lose yourselves in the views out across Swaledale and watch the Smart TV or listen to your favourite tunes through the Bose Bluetooth speaker. As night falls, climb the stairs up to the first floor, where two beautifully decorated bedrooms await. These are a super-king-size room and a twin, with zip-and-link beds that can be arranged a super-king if discussed in advance. A shower room is also on the first floor.
Enjoy the fresh Yorkshire air out on the paved area to the front of the cottage. Have a drink out here at the table before dinner and dine outside on fine, sunny evenings.
