This stylish house is located in a quiet residential area in the charming, rural town of Colyton. There are riverside walks and a children’s playground and tennis courts within a very short stroll of the property and the town itself with its traditional inns, restaurants and tea rooms is only a little further, so even if you’re here with young children, you can often leave the car at home. For a day at the beach, Beer is only 4.5 miles away and you can even visit Seaton via the Seaton Tramway, on board a wonderful narrow-gauge heritage tram that takes you through two nature reserves and alongside the River Axe estuary. There’s also a donkey sanctuary to visit 8 miles away which is free and you can interact with the resident donkeys.

Steps up from the road lead to the entrance of this modern house in a quiet cul-de-sac. Inside, a large kitchen/diner caters really well for the group and is a great social space for evening meals. It’s well equipped with an electric double oven and American-style fridge/freezer. The spacious lounge has a feature fireplace with wood burner for roaring log fires on colder nights. In warmer months, you can throw open the patio doors to the back garden. There’s also a ground-floor WC. Stairs lead up to the first-floor master bedroom which has a double bed, lovely views over the water meadows and valley towards Musbury and an en-suite bathroom. Bedroom two is a pretty twin whilst bedrooms three and four both have single beds. The family bathroom has a whirlpool bath with shower over and WC.

Outside is an enclosed rear garden with lawns and terraces and garden furniture should you wish to eat outside. There’s also an open-plan front garden.

A very good family house with plenty of space for all ages. Very close to Lyme Regis.

The property is ideally located for exploring East Devon, with easy access to Seaton, Lyme Regis, Beer and beyond. The property is spacious and well equipped. However there are areas for improvement. The property could have been cleaner and the steeply sloping garden was not ideal for small children.

We love Valley View and have stayed there on many occasions. It is a real home from home, and, following the renovations a few years ago it is now even better. Potential clients should, however, bear in mind that it is not suitable for anyone of limited mobility owing to the number of steps from the car park in the drive and the fairly steep stairRead mores to reach the bedrooms. Little touches in the house showed thought had gone into its presentation. Overall all 4 of us were very pleased with everything. Also the property was within easy reach of popular Dorset and Devon attractions. Ten out of Ten.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at Valley View. The location, the space and equipment within the property was very good. The beds, the sofas and the excellent wood burner were all fantastic. We would happily return and also recommend the property to family and friends.

Absolutely fantastic property within walking distance of Colyton village and all its amenities. The house is a real home from home. Cosy and comfortable. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday in a peaceful location. The only minor issues were, a couple of the beds would benefit from mattress toppers or new matRead moretresses and the external doors and windows could have done with cleaning. We would happily stay here again as overall we were very happy and had a fantastic week. The other thing slightly unusual was no welcome pack, in all the other properties I have stayed there is usually a pack with a few basics for your arrival, milk etc. Hide
