Visitors return year after year to Beer, and it’s easy to understand why – this unspoilt village with a history of fishing, lacemaking, and quarrying is a lovely spot for a holiday at the heart of the Jurassic Coast. Beer overlooks Lyme Bay and has a lovely shingle beach where the local fishing fleet lands its catch. On the cliffside above, the Jubilee Gardens make a popular spot for picnics and panoramic sea views. For a day trip with a difference, visit Beer Quarry Caves, a mile from the village, where you’ll find huge, cathedral-like caverns created by centuries of quarrying. Less than 2 miles east along the coast, Seaton is a renowned location for fossil hunting, while a drive 2.5 miles in the opposite direction will take you to the pretty thatched cottages and countryside of Branscombe. The beautiful market town of Axminster, famous for its carpet industry, is just over 9 miles away.
Part of a quiet residential development in the centre of Beer, this second-floor apartment prioritises together-time, with a light and airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner where four can unwind, cook, and enjoy meals in comfort. Two bedrooms each have storage so you can unpack and make yourselves properly at home – one has a double bed, the other has full-size twins – and share use of a modern tiled shower room.
There’s no garden here, but it’s a pleasant, level walk to Beer’s shops, pubs and Jubilee Gardens.
