This beautifully presented stone cottage is ideally located to explore the great outdoors, brilliant for couples seeking a relaxing retreat or an active getaway. The welcoming market town of Hawes is just 2 miles away, with all the essentials for your stay, as well as some lovely independent shops and eateries. Surrounded on all sides by dramatic hills, there are plenty of invigorating walks from the doorstep. Admire the power of the river by taking a tour of the local waterfalls, with the well-known Cotter force, Hardraw Force and Aysgill Force, all within 5 miles.

Enter through the front door and hang up your coats before entering into the cosy lounge. This room is bursting with character, from the flagstone flooring and exposed stone walls to the wood burner, wooden beams and oak mantelpiece. Nestle on the comfortable sofa beside the crackling fire or curl up on the window seat and watch the wildlife. There is also a lovely dining area where you can enjoy romantic meals for two. Through a doorway is the attractive kitchen. Venture up the stairs with a convenient rope bannister to find the spacious king-size bedroom. Admire the garden views from a comfortable tub chair with the backdrop of another fantastic exposed stone wall. An absolutely beautiful cottage with fantastic views. The Red Squirrels visited everyday along with many birds on the feeders, including, Siskins & Lesser Redpolls. On the drive up to the cottage we saw 3 wild pigs, many sheep, Roe deer, Curlews, Oystercatchers and a Little Owl. A fantastic cottage in a beautiful tranquil setting with the added fun of watching the red squirrels frequent visits. Excellent property, really comfortable. Enjoyed watching the wildlife from the window seat, especially the red squirrels. The log burner was a lovely way to end the day after walking in the variable weather.

Excellent property. Great to have sky tv when we had cosy evenings in with the log burner keeping everywhere toasty. Relaxing in the beautiful bath was a delight. This superb little cottage popped up online, what a find, the cottage sits in a secluded location, originally a cow shed it has been sympathetically restored to a high standard. Where shall I begin? The location of Red Squirrel Cottage is a haven of calm and rugged beauty- the view from the window is spectacular! The drive to and from the cottage was always a delight, as there were often sheep, rabbits, and even a few pigs casually strolling along the path! Owners have done a fabulous job of making the property seem cosy and comfortable, while retaining its unique character. The cottage offered a real sense of remoteness even though it was less than 10 minutes drive from the centre of Hawes and all the facilities that the town has to offer.
