Property code: OC-HH19

Located at the top of a hill in Mumbles, Swansea Bay, sits this home-from-home property. It’s the perfect holiday retreat for a family looking for comfort and to be close to the village and sea. Mumbles village, just over 300 metres from the house, is a lovely place to explore and features a Victorian pier, 18th-century lighthouse, and 12th-century castle. After a day’s activity, be sure to stop at one of the many ice cream parlours on the seafront and enjoy a casual bite to eat. For those wanting extra activity, walk or cycle along the 5-mile seafront promenade that stretches around the bay to Swansea Marina. Alternatively, head 1 mile from the property to Rotherslade Bay or Langland Bay and spend the day on the beach.

The open-plan lounge/dining room is a welcoming space with colourful decor, pleasant furnishings, and bold prints on the walls. It also has all the comforts you could ask for, with soft furnishings and a TV. From the lounge, wood-panelled flooring sweeps through to the dining area where a neat dining table seating four people takes centre stage. Spacious and awash with natural light, linger over a casual meal at the table or when the weather’s good, open the French doors and let the outside, in. Off the living area is a kitchen with all the appliances you’ll need to whip up a meal. Stairs lead from the ground floor to the first floor where the three bedrooms are located, including a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, and a third bedroom with a double sofa bed. The double bedroom also has a large window that invites you to admire the glorious sea views. A family bathroom completes this floor.

Outside, the rear garden has a patio area and steps leading up to a terrace. On the terrace, enjoy a morning coffee at the garden table, or simply sit and while away the hours staring at the glorious sea views.

We really enjoyed staying at your property. It is a very nice homely house well equipped with scenic views from indoors and outdoors in the garden up the steep steps. It benefits from spacious rooms, comfortable beds and parking. Furthermore, it is positioned on a quiet road close to the shops and beaches.

We enjoyed the rooms, sofas wee a wee bit softer than we are used to but certainly comfortable. The information available in the house was very useful. The bathroom was lovely and the bedrooms suitable for purpose fir each of us. We loved the garden and it's many levels even if it does need a bit of a tidy up. There was not a great easy access to speaking to an operator. I started speaking to a bot online before I went and they just replied three times with generic answers, so I gave up.

We loved this house and its location. Overland Road suggested it may go over land, and this turned out to be the case. Turn right and you can wind your way down to the top end of the promenade on the way to the pier (currently closed), turn left and within a few minutes I was at Rotherslade Bay, over the road and down the hill takes you past the chRead moreippy to one of the shopping streets. The garden, although very steep was also sheltered so we could sit outside even if it was windy elsewhere. The kitchen equipment is good, the beds are comfortable and we were grateful for access to the heating controls when we came home cold and wet one afternoon. We didnt watch much TV as the lounge TV was pretty basic, but after full days out and leisurely evening meals this wasnt a big deal. Hide

The house was well equipped, beds very comfy and great shower. There is also a dishwasher which wasn't in the listing description. The location is about 10 mins easy walk uphill from sea front and main area of restaurants. The neighbourhood is lovely and quiet. It was very useful to have a parking space as street parking in area extremely limited. Read moreThe road and driveway is very narrow, however, luckily there was no car on neighbour's drive when we were there so it was easy to park. It would be quite difficult to park a large car if there was a car on neighbouring drive. Views from the upper terraces of the back garden were stunning but unfortunately the garden has not been well maintained so it is not really useable. A fence panel is missing so entire garden not 100% secure for dogs, although the patio area immediately to the rear of the house is gated. The garden area was a shame but overall the house was clean and comfy and good value for money. Hide

Good value stay in Mumbles. The property has a lovely sea view from main bedroom & living room. The parking space is a bit tight for SUVs. A good base for exploring the Gower.

Where we stayed on Overland Road was a beautiful and ideal location to remain within the glorious coast line of the Swansea bay. It's a charming place and totally addictive when the weather is at its very best. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and did not want to leave!
