This enchanting cottage for four, close to the village of Llanrhidian, is ideal for walkers, birders, history buffs and all who love the countryside and beaches. The village, 2 miles away, has spectacular views over the estuary and salt marshes where sheep and wild ponies graze. The fascinating church of St Rhidian and St Illtyd, 2.5 miles to the west, is worth a visit for its 13th-century tower and chancel, and there’s evidence of a much older Viking settlement here too. For a walk on the wild side, head for Blue Pool Bay, a secluded, rocky inlet. You’ll need to drive to Broughton, just over 8 miles away, and then walk a little over half a mile to find this glorious beach. Rhossili Bay Beach is another beautiful place to visit and is 10 miles away.
French doors lead from the courtyard into the comfortable, tiled living room with cushy seating and minimal, stylish decor. The charming kitchen/diner has a traditional table and chairs for four. The two pretty bathrooms are also both set on the ground floor – choose between one double and one zip-and-link king room. Each of the two bedrooms has its own staircase.
Outside is a beautiful gravelled courtyard with outdoor furniture and planting all around.
