Property code: OC-P00824

A handsome, stone barn, set in the tranquil hamlet of Trenance, 1 mile from Mawgan Porth, this three-bedroom retreat has been beautifully converted to offer stylish accommodation. With a reverse-level design, it makes the most of the views and embodies contemporary style, as well as immense character. Sleeping five guests, it also comes with access to a shared paddock for four-legged friends and games area for youngsters. Stroll 0.5 miles down a private path to Mawgan Porth Beach, with its golden sands backed by steep cliffs. Plan day trips to lively Newquay, 5.5 miles away, to browse in shops, dine out and take the children to the zoo. Padstow, 7.5 miles away, is more of a destination for true foodies.

Wander into the barn to find your bedrooms and bathrooms all at ground-floor level. These include two sumptuous king-size bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room and the other with zip-and-link beds that can be arranged as twins. There is also a single bedroom, with pull-out trundle bed for an additional child. Again, please request this when booking. The family shower room is also at this level. Make your way up to the first floor to spread out in the beautiful lounge/kitchen/diner, which has a vaulted ceiling and is filled with natural light. Stoke up the wood burner in here on cold days and take in the picturesque views or find a film to watch on the Smart TV or DVD player as it crackles. Whip up tasty meals in the kitchen area then call every to the table in here.

Light the BBQ and dine out in the fresh air on the patio. Take the children and any canine companions over to the paddock, where there is also a games area and picnic benches.

  • 3 bedrooms – 2 king-sizes (one with zip-and-link beds that can be arranged as twins upon request), 1 single (with extra pull-out trundle bed for a child, also by prior arrangement)
  • 2 bathrooms – 1 en suite shower room with WC, 1 bathroom with shower over bath and WC
  • Gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and Miele washer/dryer
  • Wood burner (starter pack of logs provided from October to March)
  • Smart TV, Smart DVD player, Apple Box and Sonos speaker
  • Mobile phone signal is variable
  • Paved patio to the front (not enclosed), garden furniture, BBQ, and shared access to paddock, with picnic benches, games area and sea views
  • Private parking for 2 cars
  • Travel cot and highchair, fixed stairgates in place
  • Shop and pub 1 mile, beach 0.5 miles
  • Please bring your own beach towels
  • Please supervise children and pets on the patio and in the paddock as they are not enclosed
  • Please note, if the trundle bed is used, space in the bedroom is limited and the maximum number of guests must not exceed 5
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 09:00
  • 3 dogs allowed. Additional charges may apply

Location was good and lots of room, well equipped apart from the sofa and chair in lounge which looked great but so low and uncomfortable.

This was a beautifully appointed cottage - comfy beds, lovely spacious open plan eating and living area and a great coastal path down to the village. Would recommend.

Traeth Barn is a beautiful house, close to the gorgeous Mawgan Porth beach. The owners have decorated the barn beautifully and have thought about so many things that will mean your holiday is really enjoyable from the little welcome package to wireless chargers! We had such a lovely two weeks at Traeth Barn.

A beautifully designed cottage, no expense spared with furnishings and equipment. Views were stunning. Not for the elderly or unfit however due to the ups and downs of the area. Easy access to nearby towns eg Padstow, Boscastle, Newquay. Very well presented.
