Full of quirky character, this lovely bungalow on a small residential close in Seaton is the perfect coastal bolthole for a romantic couple. It’s a great base for a couple who want to get out and about to explore the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, as Seaton is also the only town where rocks from all three of the World Heritage Site’s geological periods – Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous – can be viewed in their natural environment. Nature-lovers will love spotting dragonflies and butterflies at the Seaton Wetlands Nature Reserve (0.5 miles), while history buffs will adore taking a romantic journey along the Axe Estuary on the Seaton Tramway (1 mile) to the medieval market town of Colyton. Alternatively, rent a kayak for two and go paddling at Seaton Beach (1.5 miles). Further afield, head into Exeter (22 miles) to see the cathedral and browse shops, bars and restaurants on the historic quayside.
Step inside and you’ll find a welcoming entrance hall leading to a cosy lounge/diner. Bright and light throughout, this space offers views over the valley and is furnished in a homely, attractive style. Down the hall, you’ll find a smart double bedroom with French doors that lead out to an exceptionally-pretty, enclosed garden. A stylish nautical-themed bathroom with a shower over the bath, and WC completes the layout of this cosy home away from home.
The attractive rear garden is a pleasure to discover. With its pond, waterfall, statues and outdoor lighting, it’s the perfect place to spend sunny days and warm evenings. There are eight steps up to ‘The Lodge’ summerhouse, as well as a further two steps up to a swing seat. There is also a front garden and a storage shed with power.
