This luxurious townhouse in a private, gated development is a wonderful base for getting to know Torquay on the South Devon coast, thanks to its views across the famous harbour and seemingly endless places for groups or big families to really kick back and relax amidst the seaside adventures. If you can drag yourself away from the lovely gardens with great views, start your Torquay exploration with a stroll around the harbour and marina (less than half a mile away), spotting the boats and luxury yachts as you go. Stop at harbour-view restaurants for a lunch of local seafood. Sunshine means beach days and there are plenty to explore here in Torquay from the main beach of Torre Abbey Sands (1 mile) to quieter, secluded coves. Some beaches offer boat trips and water sports so you can get to know the Devon coast from sea or learn about Torquay by taking an open top bus tour.
Climb 13 steps and enter this townhouse onto the first floor where you’ll find the first relaxing, social space. The kitchen is well-equipped with lots of branded appliances including a Nespresso Magimix Pod Coffee Machine (pods not provided) and a Nespresso milk frother so you can make a satisfying cappuccino. Enjoy drinks or quieter meals at the bar table with four wooden stools, perched beside the quirky, bright units. Retire to the spacious lounge where there’s a large, solid wood dining table with benches to seat eight so you can enjoy social dinners with a lovely view through the wide French doors that lead to the balcony. Retire to the leather sofas and armchairs to watch the 50-inch TV. This first floor also benefits from a cloakroom with a WC. Downstairs, on the ground floor, there’s a single bedroom with an en-suite WC that older kids will love thanks to the cool G-Force Rocker gaming chair and TV. The spacious family room is another great place to make memories together with its rattan three-seater sofas, desk with a chair that’s handy if you need to check your emails or even write that novel, plus entertainment for all the family from the bookcase and children’s toys selection. You’ll have direct access to the enclosed garden from here too, through the light-giving French doors. The ground floor also has a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Up on the second floor, there’s yet another lounge that’s perhaps the cosiest of all with its leather sofas, armchair, 56-inch TV and gas feature fire (guests use at their own risk.) This floor also has an en-suite, king-size bedroom and a laundry room. Head up to the third and top floor to find the master bedroom boasting a super-king-size bed, armchairs, a dressing table, two large built-in wardrobes and unusual arched windows. Best of all, its en-suite bathroom has a luxurious free-standing roll top bath, as well as a walk-in shower. A twin bedroom with an en-suite shower room and two large built-in wardrobes is also on this floor.
Outside, indulge in a drink with a seafront view from the balcony with bistro table and chairs, accessed via the French doors from the first-floor lounge. Further views are yours from the panoramic, enclosed front garden (children should be supervised) where there’s seating and a BBQ, perfect for evenings of al fresco dining.
