Property code: OC-WY491

Located less than half a mile from the centre of Swanage, this bright and pleasant mews-style house has an enviable location close to The Downs and with views over Swanage Bay. Swanage is a great town to head to for a quintessential seaside holiday. Its beach is part of a conservation area, while the Jurassic coast to the west has some of England’s prettiest coves. Lulworth is just under 20 miles away as is Durdle Door. The town itself has plenty to do with many pubs, shops, restaurants and cafes in addition to Santa Fe Fun Park, which will easily keep the children entertained. Otherwise, head to Swanage Railway for a 6-mile journey that takes you through beautiful countryside. If boats are more your thing, there are summer sailings on the sea-going paddle steamer from Swanage Pier. And no stay in Swanage is complete without visiting the majestic Corfe Castle – once a Saxon stronghold as well as a Norman fortress - which is just under 6 miles away.

Inside, the house has a large kitchen/diner with plenty of worktops and appliances, making rustling up meals in the property a breeze. The living room, like the kitchen, is light and bright, as well as very comfortable with a sofa and chair to relax upon when watching TV or curling up in front of the fire. The bedrooms are also spacious and tastefully decorated. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and an en-suite shower room, as well as lovely view of the bay while the other bedroom is a pretty twin with ample storage space. There is also a family bathroom with a bath and hand-held shower attachment and a WC.

Outside is a small, enclosed patio area with four chairs so guests can enjoy al fresco drinks.

  • 2 bedrooms - 1 king-size, 1 twin

The cottage is located on a steep hill, so those with a young family or disabled visitors please be aware. However the upside side is the view from the property is amazing. You can see both coast and parkland. There is plenty to do in Swanage. The bay is beautiful. Would recommend a visit to Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and finish your day at the SmuRead moregglers Inn, Osmington Mills. Hide

House in quiet area and only a short walk to town/beach but positioned at top of very steep hill. It had all the equipment needed for our stay., but the furnishings, kitchen, bathroom and en suite were sadly dated. The yard/patio area was unkempt, paving flags dirty and in need of weeding. Plenty of storage space and hangers for clothes etc. Beds wRead moreere comfortable but no fresh bed linen supplied for our second week. Bath towels supplied were large and fluffy. A missing toaster was quickly replaced with a new one and a broken back door lock was replaced within hours of being reported. Hide

The cottage is really comfortable and well equipped place to stay. The views are beautiful and the park is only a short walk away where you can play games or just sit and watch the evening sun sets (They can be wonderful and breathtaking). The only down side we found was the location in regards to the steepness of the climb from the harbour but iRead moref you walk through the park you have benches to sit on and enjoy that view. I wouldnt recommend it if you have young child in a pushchair. It is a really quiet location to just unwind so I would definitely recommend it. Hide

We had a lovely week and were lucky with the weather. Accommodation is cosy and clean with the added bonus of a gas fire on a chilly evening. Those with mobility issues should know that the property is at the top of a steep hill and both loos are up steepish stairs. Nearby park is a doggy heaven. We think Swanage is an excellent holiday destinationRead more with stunning views and plenty of superb pubs and restaurants. We have no hesitation in recommending this property and would be delighted to come again. Hide

This is a fairly old fashioned property with all the basic amenities that you require. It is in a wonderful location at the top of a fairly steep hill. It is an ideal location if you have a dog with a large park about 100m away.

Close to the town centre and country parks, which was great. Also close to Corfe Castle and Wareham. The walk back from the High Street is steep, but doable. The cottage is cosy and warm. Probably best suited to a young family. We visited Swanage over New Year and found it to be very quiet, with limited restaurants on offer. The lounge was quite dark, the oven was complicated, good tin opener needed, the garden was very small with tall trees and we like to spend time in the garden relaxing at the end of the day. Location was great, double bed very comfy, dvd's appreciated.
