Ideal for two families or a large group of friends – perhaps celebrating a special birthday or anniversary – this award-winning former barn, composed of two side-by-side properties, is situated on the northern edge of the handsome seaside town of Barry and close to the stunning Glamorgan Heritage Coast. The town of Barry itself is just 2.5 miles away, with a choice of places to eat, drink and shop, a pleasure park, tourist railway and, of course, the lovely sandy beach of Whitmore Bay. The property is just 9 miles from Cardiff and, with good road, bus and train links (Barry station is just 1.6 miles from the cottage), is an ideal place to stay while attending a sporting event in the Millennium Stadium or elsewhere in the city. In addition to its huge selection of shops and restaurants, Cardiff offers many all-weather activities, including an indoor water park and Olympic pool, and the International White Water Centre.
This matching pair of holiday cottages were converted in 2015 and are on one raised level, both with high ceilings, beautiful original beams and stone floors. Each open-plan lounge has comfortable leather sofas and is adjacent to a dining area – where you can throw back the doors to the balcony and really enjoy the feeling of space and fresh air. The kitchens are fully equipped with cupboards, worktop space and utensils – for preparing a picnic or experimenting with a gourmet meal. Also in each apartment is a pretty double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, and a king-size bedroom with an en-suite bathroom.
A large, lawned space outside gets the sun all day. There is a BBQ on site, a secure bike shed and storage space for sporting equipment. Directly off each lounge is a private, decked balcony with superb views over the Vale of Glamorgan and the Dyffryn Country Estate.
