This neat, semi-detached cottage in the heart of Whitby, Yorkshire, is the perfect seaside retreat. Although located in a quiet neighbourhood, Whitby is a bustling town with cobbled paths, historic architecture, and a stunning coastline. Dotted with attractive restaurants, cafes, and shops, plus a beautiful beach and dramatic cliffs, there’s something here for everyone to enjoy. History lovers can visit the Captain Cook Memorial Museum and gothic ruins of Whitby Abbey while hikers can make the 2-mile drive to the North York Moors.
Arranged over two floors, the accommodation has a simple, fresh ambience with the dining area showcasing a bold mural dedicated to the local legend, Captain Cook. At the front of the property is a well-equipped kitchen. Rustle up a meal and serve it in the adjacent dining room where a dining table, which seats up to eight people, is a great social space. Afterwards, step through to the lounge where you can relax on the leather sofa or swivel chair. For less mobile guests, there’s a conveniently placed en-suite bedroom on this floor featuring a double bed plus a separate shower room. The remaining three bedrooms are upstairs on the first floor. Decorated in pale pastels, the rooms are a comfortable size and feature a mix of twin, double and king-size beds. The separate bathroom includes a bath and overhead shower.
Outside is a small area with room for a couple of folding chairs. With Whitby Beach under 0.5 miles away, when the sun is out, you’ll probably want to spend most of your time on the sand or in the sea.
