This beautiful apartment makes a super base for a family or friends exploring the beguiling Lake District together, not least for its central location in ever-popular Bowness-on-Windermere. Guests will find themselves spoiled for choice, with a plethora of appealing Lakeland activities and attractions on the doorstep alongside a great range of shops, cafes and restaurants too. Lake Cruises on Windermere offer a wonderful way to explore the spectacular area that surrounds the Lake District’s largest lake, and Ambleside, the aquarium, the motor museum, the steam railway and endless breath taking fell walks are all enjoyably reached when travelling by boat. For Beatrix Potter fans, the Windermere ferry runs from Bowness-on-Windermere to Sawrey and from there, Hill Top - the author’s former home - is only a short walk. Closer still, the World of Beatrix Potter in Bowness is just a few moments from the property. And if the lakeside location makes water activities too tempting to resist, there are several water sports centres around the shores of the lake, offering everything from paddle boarding to high-octane wake surfing.

With spacious rooms, tasteful décor and excellent attention to detail, guests at this appealing two-bedroom property are offered style and comfort. Accommodation ranges across the ground and lower ground floors. On the ground floor, you’ll find spacious living areas, including a chic, bright lounge, flooded with light from a large bay window and with plush sofa, armchair seating and Smart TV, a smart kitchen/diner with a dining table and chairs seating six. A family bathroom with a bath and and overhead shower can also be found on this level, along with the first bedroom. Stairs lead down to the lower ground floor where you'll find the second super-king bedroom  with an en-suite shower room. The beds can be presented as twins on request.

The apartment has a sunny patio, just off the kitchen, with garden furniture so that guests can relax and enjoy al fresco meals in good weather.

We found the apartment very comfortable and warm, and in the main well equipped. Good value and in a central area close to the town centr. It was very quiet.

Spacious apartment in a good location

Good place but could have been so much better. The good:- Lovely location, just a few minutes walk into town, albeit down a very steep hill. Spacious hallway into a lovely large lounge. Ground floor bedroom very comfortable with bathroom/toilet next door. Well equipped kitchen with good quality crockery, cutlery and glassware. Car parking waRead mores good. The not so good:- Check-in time is 5:00pm! Check-out time is 10:00am. We received a message shortly before arrival instructing us NOT to ask for an earlier check-in or a later check-out as that would not be possible. We couldn't find any guest information book anywhere. (Found the Wi-Fi password on the base of the router in hallway.) The property is advertised as having a Netflix account. Although it is a smart TV with the Neflix app (amongst others) the password is not provided. So, unless you know your own log-in details from home, you wont be able to access it. It appeared that the gas supply to the main lounge gas fire had been isolated as it refused to light. Central heating was a nightmare to control. If activated, it ran to the next hour only i.e. if activated at 5:45pm it turned itself off at 6:00pm and had to be reactivated until 7:00pm etc. There is also a very warning about Excessive use of the heating may incur additional costs. Downstairs ensuite bedroom had a very strong damp/musty smell. We had to leave dehumidifier on all the time to try to improve it. Ensuite toilet (Saniflo type) didn't flush properly. My daughter and her husband insisted on sleeping downstairs as they didn't think it suitable for my husband who has health issues. According to the guest book, the owners acknowledged the dampness issue in 2022 and stated that the dehumidifier was a temporary solution. Only one toilet roll per bathroom. Considering we were four adults on a three day stay, that was a little mean. There were no toiletries or shower products left in either shower room. Nothing whatsoever left by way of a welcome pack; no tea, coffee, or milk. They would have been welcome after a long drive. All in all, the property gave the impression of being a penny pinching venture run for maximum profit. It would have cost very little to address all the above matters, and to have made it a much more pleasurable stay. Very disappointing. We wouldn't stay here again and until the issues are addressed, we would not recommend anybody else to book. Currently, it is not a 4* property in our opinion despite the cost of rental. Hide

Comfortable and well appointed. We had no guest information which may have just been an oversight. Would have appreciated dishcloth, foil, cling film etc in kitchen. However, after saying that, we had a lovely holiday and would stay again.

Very spacious and warm comfortable property in a quiet area. Many nice period features, high ceilings and bay window. Well equipped modern style kitchen. Beds very comfortable. Good bathrooms. Very close to shops (Tesco express not far and a Booths at Windemere station). A few minutes walk to Pier side area. Good local bus service. Note the short dRead moreistance from the bottom of Helm Rd. to the property entrance is very steep. Good parking area to front. Very satisfied with our stay (April 2024). Hide

Had a great 4 days in the Lake District, parked up the car and travelled around by bus, 4 boats and a steam train. Wonderful scenery and great places to visit. Apartment in good central position.

The reason my scores are not higher is because we are 4 elderly ladies (3 in our 80s and 1 in her 70s) We loved the apartment and the area but the steep incline leading up to the apartment was almost impossible for one of us and very difficult for all of us) Also I think it would have been helpful if there had been a non slip mat and hand rails in Read morethe bath. I don't think we gave our ages etc when we booked so it may be useful to ask questions on the booking form as to age and fitness. Also to recommend that older people without transport would find it difficult. In spite of all this we did have a lovely holiday and just sorry that we could not come again Hide

Stayed here with our sister and brother-in-law and had the best time. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. Lots of lovely memories made, thank you so much. Our Christmas present was definitely worth waiting for - perfect location.

A lovely light, spacious property just a short (quite steep) walk to Windemere Lake plus all the shops and restaurants that Bowness-on-Windemere has to offer.
