This family-friendly getaway with lots of chill-out spots inside and out is a refurbished, ground-floor apartment in the former Torcross Hotel, standing on the very edge of Slapton Sands beach so you’re steps from a day of sunbathing and coastal walking on this long, dog-friendly beach. Add extra fun to your beach day by trying surfing, windsurfing or canoeing and get your fuel from the beachside cafe. The Nature Reserve (1.5 miles), including freshwater lake Slapton Ley, is a great place to spot wildlife and plant life. It’s all in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, yours to explore on your holiday. Visit the town of Slapton to wander the charming streets of thatched cottages and traditional pubs.

Steep steps lead to the complex’s entrance; take one further step up to this apartment’s front door and enter the ground floor where you’ll find all of the homely rooms with delightful seaside themed decor throughout. There’s a large, well-equipped kitchen with modern spotlights under the units and a dining table with six chairs so you can enjoy family dinners together. The living room is the perfect spot for relaxing after your coastal adventures with a two-seater leather sofa and free-standing armchairs. The coffee table, Smart TV, DVD player and Bluetooth speaker mean you can really make yourself at home here. French doors leading to the terrace complete this lovely social area. Kids will love the bunk bedroom where there’s a cool beach scene across one entire wall, which makes up for the lack of windows. The family bathroom with a bath is a good place to reinvigorate after adventures, while the double bedroom has an en-suite shower room. Here, expect home comforts like scatter cushions, a throw, a bedside lamp, hairdryer and a TV. Best are the patio doors leading to the terrace so you can wake up and step out to sea views every morning.

You can all enjoy outdoor relaxation together on the enclosed, paved terrace overlooking the sea. The table and chairs mean family meals in the fresh sea air: the perfect way to cap off a South Devon getaway.

Excellent apartment, couldnt ask for a better position with patio looking out to sea. We have stayed here for many many years and love the place. Great position for travelling around the South Hams or you can stay local and relax and eat locally. The apartment is very comfortable and clean and you have everything you need for a lovely holiday.

Prior to arriving we received very clear instructions as directions, access codes and intricacies with relation to codes ref access. On entering the apartment how fantastic it was to have refreshments available. As we unpacked the attention to detail throughout the accommodation it could be seen that a great deal of thought had been taken with respRead moreect to providing required to ease the use and aid anyone staying. Infact we felt when it became time to leave that we probably could have stayed for much longer. To sum our stay, the highest accolade we could say is that we would look to stay again in the future. We have been visiting Torcross as a family for over 50 years, and it doesn't get much better, very nice apartment, we will be back as we visit around 4 times a year.

We have been staying at 2 At The Beach for 13 years now. The apartment is lovely, has everything you need, always very clean and well kept and of course its very dog friendly, even to supplying us with dog treats, towels and bowls. The location of this property is its main selling point, as the name suggests it is literally on the beach. The property is well equipped and ideal for a couple or a family with young children.

As a family of four, we had a really great time across the week. The property had everything we needed and more. Very quiet and close to the beach. We enjoyed the sunrises on the terrace. Would highly recommend.
