Couples can indulge in a unique glamping experience at this cosy hideaway, nestled in sweeping countryside on the edge of Exmoor National Park in Bampton, Exmoor. The adults-only renovated shepherd’s hut sits far above Marwood Farm offering vast vistas of the surrounding countryside from the windows and the outdoor hot tub where you can relax, watch the sunset and stargaze (Exmoor is one of Europe’s Dark Sky Reserves). Ramble in the surrounding countryside and Exmoor National Park - keep an eye out for wildlife including stags, if you’re lucky - and take a day trip to the coast, 24 miles away. Refresh in the local pub (1.5 miles) before heading back to your special stay for time in nature.
Approach your glamping home via a private driveway. Climb the steps into the hut to find a delightful open-plan living area that’s snug but uses the space cleverly. Rustic wooden floors and accents meet homely touches like ceramic kitchen tiles and overhead beams. The kitchen features a hob, oven and fridge with an ice making compartment to chill your drinks; while the bedroom has a double bed with a TV and a countryside-view window at the end of it. There’s a shower room with a WC and, handily, underfloor heating to keep you cosy.
Outside, with panoramic views across the Devon countryside, you can enjoy a fenced, gravelled area where there’s a sun umbrella, two wooden chairs and a bubbling hot tub for perfect nights of romantic, rural relaxation.
