A traditional home with lots of cosy, spacious rooms for making memories, this is a lovely base for families to get away into nature as the property is located within forty acres of farmland and surrounded by valleys in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Its position 1,000 feet above sea level offers you wonderful views. There are scenic walks to be had right from your doorstep, out into the land surrounding the property or along nearby Offa’s Dyke trail. The property is close to the charming villages of Eryrys and Llanarmon-yn-lal, where you can while away an afternoon in traditional local pubs. Fancy a day trip? Visit the historic, nature-surrounded market town of Ruthin (6.5 miles) and take a tour to learn about it. If you’re holidaying with the kids, spend a day at Chester Zoo (22.5 miles) and see the historic city while there.

Return to your relaxation-ready holiday home and put your feet up in the sitting room where there’s plush, comfy seating and a rocking chair surrounding the electric fireplace that makes things extra cosy. Make use of the big TV and DVD player on family nights, made extra sociable as the room boasts double doors leading directly to the patio area (down some steps). The pretty feature wallpaper, coffee table and standing lamp give the room a homely feel. From the sitting room, there are steps down through an archway to a kitchen with traditional oak decor and tiled floors and walls. Enjoy snacks and drinks at the small breakfast bar. Family dinners can be enjoyed together in the dining room with a six-seater table. The room is classic with exposed beams, a wood burner-effect electric fire and an oversized, patterned rug. Another lovely place to make memories together is the windows-surrounded conservatory which boasts those vast valley views. Take them in from your spot on the cushioned wicker furniture or the box chair in the cosy corner - a great place to read and relax. You’ll also benefit from the utility room - which houses a washing machine, tumble dryer and space for hanging coats - the bathroom that boasts a bath and a rainfall shower for you to rejuvenate after outdoor pursuits. All the bedrooms in this house are bright and pleasant, starting with the ground-floor double with an en-suite shower room. Upstairs, on the first floor, you’ll find a king-size and twin room, both with lovely countryside views.

You’ll be impressed by the private outdoor space here. Fancy an evening of al fresco dining? Cook family dinners on the brick-built BBQ and tuck in at the dining table and chairs with a lovely backdrop of the white cottage and those tranquil, rural views. There’s even a sun umbrella if you need it. Once you’ve finished, retire to the rattan corner sofa on the patio, with tables for drinks. Past the low stone wall is a fenced lawn area and another section with a valley-facing picnic table on gravel. Keep your eyes peeled for animals in the surrounding fields. A sandpit for the children and another covered seating space - allowing you to enjoy the view whatever the weather - completes this house designed for tranquillity.

Top Y Nant was one of the most peaceful vacations we've had. Gorgeous views and fun watching the sheep pass through every morning. Cottage well appointed and appreciated the master bedroom privacy at the back of the house. The conservatory was wonderful even in chilly November.

We two families stayed at Top Y Nant for 3 nights and enjoyed each and every minute of being there. This is the first time we have opted for the Cottage holiday as we normally go to a caravan park. Once we reached the cottage we told ourselves that we should stop doing caravan parks and need to explore more cottage holidays. That's the influence thRead moreis cottage gave us in the first view itself. Particularly we wanted to come to this cottage again. You have everything you need in the cottage, the kitchen is filled with all the required utensils and pots, various game boards and games for kids, even bath toys for kids, and a kind welcoming pack with a bottle of wine, bread and shortbread. A well-maintained indoor and outdoor place with a fresh atmosphere makes you feel relaxed. The front garden and a viewing spot with a table and benches are the added jewels of this place. Definitely a place to revisit. Hide

Fantastic property. Great location with excellent facilities. Remote enough for a peaceful stay but local enough to access lots of activities / attractions. Lots of room outside for kids to play and run around. Comfortably slept 4 adults and 2 small children (1 & 3). Had a brilliant holiday.
