There’s always plenty to do on the Isle of Purbeck, and Swanage is a great base for a holiday that’s as busy or laid-back as you want it to be. This popular resort is steeped in nostalgia – stroll along the Victorian pier, enjoy the view of Swanage Bay from Durlston Castle or ride a steam train through the countryside to Corfe Castle, 5.5 miles away. Time stands still, too, in the ‘lost village’ of Tyneham (11.5 miles) which has been deserted ever since its residents were evacuated during WWII. Natural beauty abounds on Purbeck, and Lulworth Cove (17 miles) is famous for its panoramic views, unique geology and crystal-clear waters. On the other side of the peninsula, Studland Bay (3.5 miles) is another much-loved beauty spot with, at its southern end, one of the most famous landmarks on the South Coast: the stack of chalk known as Old Harry Rocks.

Flat 2 Marine Approach is a fabulous ground floor apartment which  offers plenty of space where friends or family can relax in the bright and airy rooms. The large lounge where there are high ceilings and a feature bay window overlooking the road down to the beach in front. Across the hallway, an open-plan kitchen/diner is fitted with everything you’ll need for a fuss-free stay, and a traditional-style dining suite. The three bedrooms offer more home-from-home comfort. The main king-size bedroom has its own en-suite WC, while the other two – one with a double bed, the other with twins – each have built-in wardrobes. The family bathroom brings a wow factor to the apartment: along with a sleek, stylish finish, it includes a shower cubicle and a modern free-standing bath.

The beach and seafront promenade are around only 150 metres away.

We have stayed at Marine Approach for the past 3 years and always enjoyed our holiday there. It is so convenient for the beaches we love. There isbeberything you need in the accommodation for a lovely stay. So sorry the Apartment is for sale as would have hopefully returned next year withvthevfamily.

Lovely and comfortable apartment in a great location just 10 minutes walk to the heart of Swanage. The beds were really comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. The property could have been cleaner on arrival (mainly dusty) but we have fed back to owners so this should be addressed going forwards.

We loved our week in the apartment, it was spacious comfortable and a real home from home. It had everything we needed and more. The location could not have been better, so convenient for the beach and shops and eateries in the town. We already have plans to return and have recommended it to family and friends.

Lovely stay at Flat 2 Marine Approach for second time. Flat very light and comfortable with everything we needed for our stay in Swanage. Very convenient for beach.

A great property very close to the beach at the quieter end of Swanage 2 fabulous beach cafes open from 8am-7pm breakfast lunch supper coffee tea beer and wine and much more and use of toilets Swanage has a very safe beach and ideal for children of all ages. Lots of activities including the steam train, crabbing, pitch and put and boat trips. The apartment is in a fantastic location. It is genuinely a 50m walk to the beach and a short walk into the town. It has everything you need. It is comfortable and cosy but big enough to have your own space if you need it. It is perfectly situated for some coastal walks. We did Dancing Ledge on one day and Old Harry Rock on another without driving Read moreanywhere. I will definitely be booking again bit to be honest I expect it to be fully booked especially in the warmer months as it is so lovely. Hide
