Discover this charming cottage within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With two double bedrooms and the South Devon Coast Path passing nearby, this property is ideal for friends, couples or families of walkers and nature lovers. Visitors to the cottage will find shops and pubs just steps from their door in Stoke Fleming and all the amenities of larger, livelier Dartmouth only 3 miles away. The award-winning beach, Blackpool Sands, is less than 1 mile away, and just 5 miles will take you to fascinating Slapton Ley. The largest freshwater lake in the South West is separated from the sea by a narrow strip of shingle beach and is the perfect spot for a day trip.

Seven steps lead you to the door of this welcoming cottage and into the entrance hallway. Hang up your coats and take one more step up to the ground-floor master bedroom. This spacious room has large windows, a comfortable king-size bed, and a lovely en-suite with an exposed stone wall, floor lighting and a free-standing roll-top bath. Continue up the stairs to the first floor, where you’ll find the second bedroom, a cosy double with a separate shower room – please note, there is no space on either side of the bed, so access is via the bottom of the bed. Also on the first floor is the open-plan living room/kitchen, a light and airy space featuring a beautifully finished kitchen with high-end appliances and polished wooden surfaces, including a wooden island and breakfast bar. If you don’t fancy eating on stools at the island, a folding dining table can be set for four. At the other end of the room is a lounge with wooden floorboards, an exposed brick wall and two comfortable sofas. An ideal place to relax after a day spent exploring the area.

Loved staying the flat - but here is some constructive critisicm - We couldn't find a way to switch on the washing machine (which we needed to use) - there was no visible fuse switch and the machine didn't have power. - Internet connection was very poor it seemed. We were able to connect our Chromecast device to the TV - but the speed when using Read morethis was too slow and the servics kept timing out - Outdoor light outside of the master bedroom windows kept triggering during the night and waking me up Thanks Ross Hide

This was the perfect location, we enjoyed lots of walks and used the buses. The cottage was beautiful and the added advantage of the village pub and free parking nearby made this a place wed love to stay in again.

Property smelt a little musty on arrival, perhaps it had not been rented for a while. TV system temperamental.

A comfortable property in a great village for us but there was no mention of the additional 8 steps up to the first level at the back of the walk way. Then there is the 7 steps up to the front door (as mentioned in the write up) as well as negotiating taking the cases up to the first floor. Not ideal for 2 single ladies. If we had know this we probRead moreably wouldnt have booked this cottage. Also the lack of towels was disappointing. Only 2 towels per person for a week. The larger of the towels barely wrapped around after a shower. A bath sheet would have been nice. There is also a need for a hand towel to be provided in the kitchen as using the tea towel to dry your hands as well as dry the dishes is hardly hygienic. These issues could easily be solved at very little expense but would make a much more pleasant stay. Loading and unloading was quite stressful as we had to park illegally, on a junction and on a bend - not ideal. Otherwise the cottage had everything else we needed and expected for our stay. Hide
