This high-end barn conversion is finished to a great standard throughout, creating a romantic getaway conveniently located in the beautiful Welsh countryside near Aberystwyth. Ideal for a couple or a solo traveller, this is one of three former farm buildings set just off a quiet country lane. With its sandy beach, the small seaside town of Borth is 3.5 miles away and where you will find your local shops, pubs and restaurants. A further 3 miles north, you arrive at Ynyslas National Nature Reserve, where rolling sand dunes meet the ocean. The estuary beyond plays host to a variety of wading and sea birds and is an RSPB-protected area. The historic Victorian university town of Aberystwyth is 5 miles from your door. Stroll the colourful promenade, explore the many interesting shops, restaurants and cafes, or take the cliff railway to enjoy stunning views over Cardigan Bay. Take a trip back in time on the Vale of Rheidol Railway with restored steam trains running from Aberystwyth to Devil’s Bridge, where wonderful scenery and fantastic walking trails await. Don’t miss the Bwlch Nant yr Arian Forest Visitor Centre. Perched on a hilltop 10 miles from the cottage, it’s famous for daily feeding the impressive red kite birds of prey. The centre also offers a range of walking, mountain biking, running and horse-riding trails, as well as a mountain bike skills park, café, shop and play area.
This lovingly converted cottage boasts a thoughtful mix of original features and modern elements. Upon entering, you are met by exposed stonework, wooden beams and a lofty open-plan living area. The lounge is warm and cosy with a wood burner and Smart TV. The modern kitchen comes fully equipped for all your culinary needs with sleek units and plenty of countertop space. The spacious king-sized bedroom shares the same exposed stonework and high vaulted ceilings as the rest of the cottage and has a stylish en-suite with a walk-in shower. A separate heated indoor dog shower is also available for your four-legged friends.
Outside is a fully enclosed garden with a patio and pod chair in the summer months. The garden can be enjoyed at any time of the year with a covered deck home to a table, chairs and a relaxing hot tub. Hot tub may be too cool to use on arrival day due to being changed with every change of guest.
Please be aware before booking that in times of drought hot tubs won't be available for guests during their stay. This is due to the hot tubs being filled up with water from a local water source. Additionally there is an electric car charging point available at a cost (maximum of 3 charges).
