Escape to this spectacular stone-built cottage with a hot tub, situated in the beautiful West Wales countryside, the ideal getaway for a couple or family. Explore the small seaside town of Borth just 4 miles away, to see what you find in the rock pools and relax on the sandy beach. For keen windsurfers and kite surfers, head to Ynyslas beach, 2 miles further north, with its 3-mile-long golden sands and grassy dunes. Take a trip to Aberystwyth, 6 miles, for a packed day out where you can stroll along the Victorian promenade and take your pick of independent shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. Travel on the electric cliff railway and delight in magnificent views over Cardigan Bay or set off on the Vale of Rheidol Railway to enjoy the stunning waterfalls at Devils Bridge. Walk, cycle and feed red kites at the Bwlch Nant yr Avian Forest Visitor Centre, or head to MOMA Wales art gallery in Machynlleth, the Ancient Capital of Wales, both within 15 miles.

Open the beautiful oak front door and step inside this stunning cottage with a wealth of features. The lovely kitchen, with slate floor and rustic exposed beams, is the ideal social space for delicious meals and fun-filled evenings around the table. Two steps down take you into the lounge with exposed stone wall and beams, where floor length windows let in plenty of light. Curl up for a cosy movie night or enjoy a quiet read in this delightful room. Head upstairs to the two impressive bedrooms, both with vaulted ceilings and exposed beams making them light and airy. In bedroom one you’ll find a super-king-size bed which can be split for twin beds, and there’s an en-suite too – take a long soak in the bath after a busy day of adventures. A few steps away is the second, equally delightful bedroom with a king-size bed and en-suite shower room.

Outside, the garden can be accessed via a path round to the back of the cottage. Soak away in any weather with a dip in the under-cover hot tub. Steps lead up from this area to the gazebo, a lovely spot for al fresco dining. A further patio area, with seating provided in the summer months, provides an alternative space to enjoy the evening air. The shed, for storage of bicycles and sports equipment, is at the edge of the enclosed, lawned garden.

A superb property with quality fixtures and fittings in a peaceful location yet within easy reach of wonderful countryside and coast. From the comfort of our sofa we were able to watch red kites swooping overhead and bats flitting around at dusk. One of the nicest properties we have ever stayed in.

What a fabulous place, everything we could have wished for! Stunningly clean well furnished and a fully equipped kitchen - thank you! We have a 2 year old so bare with the recommendations. Dolphin watching at New Quay - we took a boat trip and the guide was very knowledgeable, saw more dolphins from the shore that day but still we loved it! LeisureRead more centre for swimming (toddler session but also they have a large water slide) - Machynlleth. Also by the leisure centre in Machynlleth is a great park, walks, gardens and cafes. Aberystwyth - the castle and castle park and the great park just off the southgate round about by the community centre. Aberdyfi beach, well worth the short drive, great sandy beach, toilets near and fish and chips. We really recommend Ynyslas and Borth for lovely views and walks. Thanks for a perfect stay! Hide

Is this possibly one of the best places you could stay? From the accommodation to breakfast outside every day and falling asleep to the sound of a running stream, and don't forget star watching in a light pollution free zone. Back to reality on Tuesday, thanks once again.
