This stylishly furnished house, sleeping four guests and within 100 metres of the sea at Glen Beach is ideally placed for couples sharing a holiday in this beautiful corner of West Wales. Saundersfoot is a lively village with independent shops, cafes and restaurants and a colourful working harbour where you can hire a boat for sightseeing or fishing. The main beach is a favourite with families for its huge expanse of golden sand and shallow waters, safe for paddling and swimming and a popular spot for water sports such as paddleboarding and kayaking. From here, you can join the Pembrokeshire Coast Path which runs through Saundersfoot and enjoy an exhilarating walk with glorious sea views at every turn. Visit pretty Tenby (4 miles), known for its brightly painted houses, for a stroll along cobbled streets where you can browse shops and galleries. The town’s all-important lifeboat station is open to visitors in the summer months and for pre-booked tours out of season. For more vigorous pursuits, head to Heatherton World of Activities, where you can test your mettle on woodland zip-wires, go-karting and treetop walks or opt for golf and fishing. There are two spectacular castles with fairy-tale towers and turrets within easy reach: Manorbier (8.5 miles) and Carew (7.5 miles), where you can also see the historic Tidal Mill.

Step into the open-plan living area and find a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams that creates a wonderfully airy space, enhanced by tall green plants and soft lighting. French doors lead out to a sheltered side patio. A comfortable leather sofa and armchair with cushions, plus a tub chair, provide relaxed seating in front of the TV and sound bar while a quirky driftwood coffee table and striking artwork add a lively touch to this tranquil room. Attractive grey floor tiles in the living area continue into the spacious kitchen/diner. A beautifully designed central island, part-faced with brick, has a breakfast bar with four stylish stools. Light streams in through floor-to-ceiling windows, with double doors opening onto the front patio, softened by pots of flowers and shrubs. The open plan Kitchen/Living area also benefits from a gorgeous Log Burner, perfect for cosy nights in. A ground-floor, king-size bedroom is reached through double doors from the living room. Furnished in gentle marine tones, it has a TV and a sumptuous en-suite wet room. French doors in this spacious bedroom give a pleasing view of whitewashed walls and mature trees. A simple white staircase leads to the first-floor double bedroom, which has views of trees from the main window and a rooflight. This pretty room has a Smart TV and DVD player, along with an en-suite shower room and WC. A low ceiling in part of this room can restrict headspace.

Outside, the cottage is enclosed by mature shrubs and trees. A side patio has a table and chairs, while the rear has a delightfully secluded and part-sheltered dining area, with a built-in table and seating— perfect for a drink or meal, whatever the weather.

Book this early to avoid disappointment!

The property is situated in a quiet area, with an easy walk into Saundersfoot along the beach (as long as the tide is out). The owners, Marie and Stu, live next door and they were very friendly and helpful, and were available if needed, The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. There was plentiful hot water and lots of towels.
