Have a relaxing break away from it all in an idyllic village. Explore the surrounding countryside by day, before returning to your romantic little apartment above a tearoom for a peaceful night’s sleep. This contemporary one-bedroom apartment is set in a quaint stone building in the centre of Gunnerside. This little village was once a Norse settlement that expanded into a mining village during the 18th century – The Old Smithy, which is still fully operational, has a fascinating collection of memorabilia from those times. This is a great area for walking and the surrounding meadows are rich with wildflowers in spring and early summer.
Enter the hallway that has storage for coats and shoes and climb the 13 steps up to the apartment. Here you will find the open-plan living and dining area, with a galley kitchen, a cosy electric fire and sofas, and a dining table and chairs for two, making this a very sociable space for spending your evenings. The bedroom has a double bed and views of the fells and is decorated in cool tones. There is a separate sleek shower room with large cubicle.
Outside, you’ll discover a great terraced balcony with comfortable seating and views of the Dales making it a lovely place to sit on a summer’s evening.
