This luxurious apartment is ideal for a small group to enjoy a relaxing Suffolk holiday. Set in a modern waterfront development on the former site of the Woodbridge boat yard, the area is steeped in nautical history. This attractive market town on the River Deben was once a centre for boat building and rope making. Today it is a buzzing little town with much to offer. The apartment is situated above a restaurant with a choice of cafes and bars on your doorstep. As such it is a lively place to stay with lots of boating activity on the river and a relaxed dining scene with al fresco dining options and plenty of opportunities to stroll along the riverbank. The town itself has a pretty centre with a great range of independent and specialist shops, as well as art galleries, a museum and a cinema. Woodbridge is home to one of the UK’s two famous tide mills and it is also associated with Sutton Hoo. This is one of the most important Anglo-Saxon burial sites found in the UK. The town also sits on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so there are many beautiful walks to enjoy. The Suffolk Heritage Coast is around 8 miles away offering more opportunities for walking, sightseeing and days at the beach.
The apartment is on the first floor of a waterfront building and is accessed via a flight of steps. Upon entering there is an entrance hallway with ample cupboard space for storing coats and shoes. When guests step into the open-plan living area they will be struck by both the stylish design and the splendid views. The whole space is light, bright and beautifully put together. Vaulted ceilings give a wonderful sense of space and well-placed windows make the most of the riverside location. To one end double French doors open to an outside deck while long low-level windows frame some interesting watery views. There are plush sofas and easy chairs, a chic, contemporary kitchen with a breakfast bar, and a round wooden table set with comfortable dining chairs. Tasteful design touches and high-end fixtures and fittings help make this a wonderful space to spend time in. There is also a writing desk if guests need to do a little work or study on their trip. The two guest bedrooms are on the same level with a king-size room and twin room both enjoying river views and en-suite bathrooms. The master bedroom en-suite has a large rainforest shower and a deep bath where guests can lie back and enjoy views across the River Deben. The twin room en-suite has a shower over the bath and a heated towel rail.
The outside space is a wonderful feature of the home with a large private terrace overlooking the water. Here guests can enjoy magnificent sunrises and sunsets and watch the world go by on the river. The terrace is set with loungers and an outside dining table. When the weather is good, open up the French doors and enjoy inside/outside living at its best.
