A lovely cosy cottage in a quiet area, good quality furniture and furnishings, every kitchen appliance I needed, lots of Christmas decorations up which was a nice touch as were the bottle of champagne and box of shortbread. The wifi was excellent but note that there's normally no phone signal in the cottage - a short walk up the path from the cottRead moreage is apparently OK. The friendly host came and welcomed me and was nearby in case of need. Would definitely stay here again. Hide

The accommodation was clean, well stocked with everyday items and beautifully decorated!! I especially loved the Belfast sink and original decor of the barn. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the shower was huge!!! We loved it!! Terry even provided a 50 balloon and bottle of Prosecco as a birthday gift for my husband!! Amazing stay!!

Pippistrelle Barn was a great base for our 10 day walking holiday. The property has been beautifully restored to a high standard and was comfortable and well equipped. It's a short drive to many Peak District walks and there is a plentiful supply of pubs and places to eat in the area including The Red Lion within a few minutes walk of The Barn. The advert could have been clearer that the property is connected to the owners property and that it contains a connecting door (meaning that you can hear what is happening in the owners house). We wouldnt have booked this property if we had been aware of that. We also received no instructions in advance on where to park our cars, so we parked bothRead more cars on the drive, which resulted in the owner coming around at 9am on the first morning of our holiday to ask us to move one of them, which was less than ideal. We were also not able to control the heating in the property ourselves, as the boiler and the controls were in the owners property - we arrived very late on the the first day of our stay and the property was freezing cold, with the heating off and most of the radiators having been turned down. Our stay at Pipistrelle Barn was perfect. The finish of the barn was amazing, still managing to keep it's country side feel. Plus it is in such a peaceful place which makes it the perfect getaway.

Beautiful converted barn. Certainly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the area. The OS map shows loads of local walks but unfortunately most are not accessible due to various reasons.
