Discover this comfortable, quaint cottage in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, surrounded by beautiful scenery, tourist attractions, and walking trails. With three bedrooms and lovely outdoor space, this property will appeal to families or friends wanting a rural base for exploring the area. It is located in Hardraw, a picturesque village filled with traditional cottages and home to Hardraw Force, England's largest single-drop waterfall. Hardraw is well placed for exploring the many delights of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and several walking trails and cycle routes start within the village. Less than 2 miles away is Hawes (1.5 miles), the home of world-famous Wensleydale cheese, where you can explore the factory, museum and visitor centre.

This beautiful dales cottage is a warm and comfortable home which has retained many of its traditional features such as flagstone floors, beamed ceilings and exposed brick walls. The entrance hall is a lovely mixture of wood and stone and offers storage for walking boots and outdoor wear, before you step up the two stairs into the kitchen dining room. This light room, tastefully decorated with sage units, cream appliances, and wooden surfaces, is a lovely room to cook and dine in. The living room is a cosy place to retreat to on chilly evenings with large plush sofas and a feature wood burner. Large windows offer beautiful views of the river and garden. Four steps take you to a bedroom with bunk beds suitable for children and a shower room with a rainforest shower and WC. Climb the nine stairs to the first floor, where you’ll find two double bedrooms with brick feature walls and lovely countryside views. The bathroom features a shower over a freestanding bath, and a window that offers stunning views as you bathe.

Outside this property is a private terrace with a table and chairs offering stunning views over fields and farmland. The cottage grounds lead to the river, where it's possible to set up a table and chairs for an idyllic lunch beside the water.

  • 3 bedrooms – 1 double, 1 small 4’ double, 1 bunk bedroom (suitable for children only)

  • Outhouse with washer/dryer

  • Private parking for 2 cars on an incline
  • Shop 300m, 4 pubs 1.5 miles away
  • Due to the proximity of the river and road, this property may not be suitable for children under the age of 12 (any children must be supervised at all times)

Lovely cottage in a great location, just a short walk (1 minute) to the village pub, which does reasonable food (though not very friendly and need to book). Cottage is a nice mix of old and new. Lovely modern bathrooms, good towels and linen, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, but slightly tricky stairs. Generous welcome pack with milk, tea, Read morebiscuits etc. Great wood burner, but bring your own logs/kindling as the logs provided only last a couple of nights. Lounge is a bit small and would be cramped with more than 2-3 adults. Heating and hot water worked well and good to have a washing machine - though a washer - dryer would be helpful. Very quiet and peaceful, next to small river and view to the rear across fields. Good value for money. As mentioned in comments to the owners, the exit onto the road from the steep drive is dangerous. Might be OK if two people and someone stands in the road, but as I was on my own I had to drive out blind. I ended up parking the car in the village and walking to and from the cottage, which was inconvenient. Other than that an excellent property and stay. I would definitely come again, especially if the drive issue is fixed. Hide

Beautiful cottage near a babbling brook and a short walk to the Green Dragon pub. Steep driveway was not a problem for us but you need a banksman to guide you onto the road as it's blind in both directions. Loved our stay and may return.

So quiet! Cosy, well equipped cottage in beautiful location. One we have admired from the bench across the river on many occasions.Walks and cycle rides from the door or for the less energetic, an assortment of birds visiting the garden, a pub a few yards away and Hardraw Force easily accessible. Rose Cottage was the best setting for a birthday weekend. There were beautiful views across the dales from both of the upstairs bedrooms, and from the living room. We were also lucky enough to get in for a last few pints at The Green Dragon on its last weekend under the same owners that its had for 20 years or so! Probably the cosiest and best equipped cottage we have stayed in. The kitchen is especially well equipped and is ideal for comfortable dining. The lounge is superbly cosy with an excellent log burner that was easy to light and manage. This kept the whole cottage warm during our stay. The 2 bathrooms are warm and well appointed offering either a sRead morehower or bath, a real luxury. Anxious to arrange our next visit. Hide
