This double-fronted property sleeping six guests has lovely country views and a welcoming atmosphere that makes it an ideal holiday home for families or a group of friends to share. Located down a tree-lined drive and surrounded by fields, the farmhouse is just 3 miles from the lively university city of Bangor. Visit its shops and restaurants and enjoy a stroll down the delightful Victorian Garth pier for fabulous views of the Menai Strait against a backdrop of Eryri - the Snowdonia National Park. For a closer look at the highest peak in England and Wales, head for Llanberis (7 miles) and the famous railway that climbs 4.7 miles to the summit of Snowdon. If adventure calls, get a bird’s eye view of gorgeous scenery on a 152m high zipline, one of a range of adrenalin-fuelled activities run by Zip World near Bethesda (5 miles). Nearby Penrhyn Castle (4.5 miles) is a magnificent 19th-century country mansion set in extensive gardens and managed by the National Trust.

The spacious living room is full of character, with ceiling beams, a feature stone wall and some charming pieces of antique furniture, together with brasses and a traditional shepherd’s crook displayed on a beam above the fireplace. Light the cosy wood burner and relax on two comfortable sofas and a wing chair in front of the Smart TV. The attractive, country-style kitchen has a pine dining table and chairs, while a light and airy conservatory with rattan seating is ideal for a quiet moment. Its doors open onto the patio and a pretty terraced garden, with tranquil views of open fields beyond. Upstairs are three beautifully furnished bedrooms: a king-size, a double and a twin, all with lovely rural views. A family bathroom provides an electric shower over the bath and a WC.

The cottage is cosy, clean, comfortable and warm. The location is perfect - not only is it quiet and isolated, it is close to all the attractions of North Wales. The hosts are a lovely couple who were extremely welcoming and helpful and made us the most delicious lemon cake on arrival! Nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. A fantastic little place just outside of Bangor, Wales. You may find the narrow farm road a little intimidating but dont let that put you off. This is a beautiful combination of modernised decor and traditional Welsh atmosphere. The house has all the amenities needed and our stay was marked by a rural feel, far from the rat race without feeling Read moreisolated. The hosts were top-notch and even gave us the choice of a freshly homemade cake to greet us on our arrival. Friendly and accommodating, they welcomed us without intrusion and gave us a good send off at the end. I cant praise this place enough. We will be staying again! Hide

We had a wonderful stay at Hen Dy. The cottage is beautiful, very well maintained and cleaned to the highest standard. We had a lovely stay at Hen Dy! Perfect location for exploring Snowdonia with plenty of stunning walks just a short drive away. The owners are lovely and really welcoming, and made lots of suggestions of places to visit in the area. The cake in the welcome pack on arrival was delicious and very much needed after a long drive. The house was spotlessRead morely clean and the beds were very comfortable. The garden is a perfect suntrap to unwind in whilst listening to the birds, sheep and cows which surround it. Enjoyed our stay here very much. The owners were great. They even helped change a wheel for my daughter who had a puncture. An excellent property in a quiet rural setting. Beautifully furnished, well equipped, short of nothing. Very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Hosts are lovely and friendly, nothing too much trouble. Coast, cycling outdoor adventure all nearby. Would highly recommend.

We had such a warm welcome from the owners (including home baking!) who gave us really good suggestions of places to visit etc. The house is very cosy and really clean with a beautiful garden surrounded by a sheep farm. Very child friendly and good place to bring a dog to. We look forward to booking another stay!

Thank you for a lovely stay in a beautiful cottage with stunning scenery ! We had such a great welcome . The Welsh Cakes and Lemon Cake were to die for. Lovely comfortable beds and toastie too! We visited some lovely beaches and South Stack on Anglesey. I saw my first puffin so idyllic ! We will be back.
