The local area is dotted with charming towns/villages, such as Attleborough (5 miles) and Wymondham (10 miles) which have independent shops and eateries within their beautiful historic buildings. For the motor sport enthusiasts Snetterton race track is a short drive away. Why not hop on a train from Attleborough to the nearby city of Norwich (20 miles) with its beautiful cathedral? You can explore Thetford Forest (15 miles) to the south and the Norfolk Broads (23 miles) to the northeast, either on foot or by bike, or perhaps younger guests would prefer a visit to Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure (17 miles).

Beautifully restored, this former barn is now an impressive holiday home boasting character and space. It is tastefully decorated throughout with traditional furniture sitting effortlessly alongside modern fixtures and fittings to create a welcoming home. Sleeping six guests across three bedrooms, it is ideally suited to families. Settle down to the TV with DVD player or listen to music on the Echo Dot. The kitchen has a double electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. Two of the bedrooms can be found on the ground floor. One is a spacious double room with an en-suite shower room with a shower and WC, whilst the other one is a twin room. Completing the ground floor is a family bathroom with a bath with shower over and WC. The third bedroom is on a mezzanine floor overlooking the lounge and has two further single beds.

Heading out through the French doors in the lounge, you’ll find yourself on the patio area which has dining furniture and a charcoal BBQ. Enjoy a spot of al fresco dining here with the stunning countryside as your backdrop. There is also a lawn for children and dogs to enjoy. Well-appointed, spacious and exceptionally quiet. Tastefully decorated. Good contact with the owners next door, helpful and accommodating. Oscar, who came to see us several times a day, a very good-natured cat.

Amazingly good communication before the holiday including a "heads up" about local road closures. The cottage was excellent and faultless. Mike met us as we arrived and talked us through facilities inside. The milk, biscuits and apple/pear juice were a lovely touch. There is detailed information in a folder giving useful suggestions of things to Read moredo. Kate and Mike were also on hand to help with local knowledge. The cottage is pretty remote but this was ideal for our group and meant my morning run/walks were along traffic free roads. Within easy reach of many good places to visit and made for a memorable break. Hide

Lovely location where you genuinely feel away from it all, but within 15 minutes drive of good pubs! Mike and Kate are lovely hosts, couldn't be more helpful, fixing our bikes, helping with the BBQ, etc etc. Very relaxing holiday.

Beautiful barn towards the end of a private road surrounded by fields. Mike and Kate were great hosts. They live next door to the barn, but leave you completely to your own devices unless you need something from them to which they are more than helpful. Highly recommend this holiday home.

A great property, real home from home, but the approaching lane is really potholed (worse in winter when we were there Im sure). Very clean, comfortable and well appointed. Owners lovely and welcoming.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Lays Barn. Perfect for enjoying the peace and quiet of the rural location whilst also within a relatively short car ride to surrounding towns, villages and the city of Norwich. Lovely owners, very friendly and welcoming.
