Wyvern Cottage an original Georgian house in the old part of Swanage town. Wyvern Cottage is a Grade 2 listed stone terraced house located in the historic quarter of this quintessentially English seaside town. Dating back to the 1700’s Wyvern Cottage  is surrounded by similar pretty stone buildings in the oldest part of Swanage. With the original town mill pond opposite and the old parish church nearby,  it can easily be described as the classic English cottage setting.

Nestling on the historic Church Hill, the cottage oozes quality. With a beautifully appointed interior and contemporary amenities, Wyvern offers the perfect place for either a short break or traditional summer holiday. Three sumptuously designed double bedrooms, a modern designer kitchen and a generous sized comfortable lounge await you. The generous lounge provides a cosy and comfortable family reception room. Featuring three large sofas, a Smart TV and a real wood burning stove, what better after your day exploring the Jurassic coast than to relax with a drink in front of a real fire.

The modern kitchen is equipped with contemporary appliances including an electric oven & hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher & remote controlled extractor.  A utility room and cloakroom off the kitchen provides further useful workspace and amenities. The cloakroom a toilet & hand basin and the Utility room a washing machine, second sink & drainer area. Whether you're preparing a family meal or a quick snack, everything you need is at hand.

Upstairs, three double bedrooms provide flexible sleeping arrangements. On the first floor, the front facing bedroom has a super king bed with ‘zip and link’ mattress’s. This provides an option as one Super King bed or two twin single beds. The rear facing bedroom features a king size bed with its own ensuite shower and washbasin.

A family bathroom off the landing completes this floor with a full size bath, in bath shower, toilet and washbasin.

The second floor bedroom is accessed via a flight of stairs. This room features a cosy double bed overlooking the Purbeck hills.

It should be noted the stairs to the second floor are relatively steep but will present no challenge to the fit and mobile. The stairs may not be suitable to the elderly, disabled or persons with mobility issues. If you have any doubts about booking Wyvern Cottage due to this please enquire. The cottage was lovely and well kept - clean, well equipped and comfortable. We appreciated all the information and instructions prepared by the owners. Parking was a bit of an issue - it took a while to find spaces, even in low season but it was possible to park immediately outside to load and unload which was helpful.

A great location, 10 mins walk too the beach and much less to shops and cafes, with a fabulous food pub across the road. A comfy communal lounge, well equipped kitchen and bathroom facilities were good.

Beautiful cottage to stay in. I had a couple of questions which the owner answered quickly and was very helpful with. I booked through original cottages, as I have done for several years. They are so helpful. Lauren in the Swanage office has been extremely helpful to assist with queries.

A lovely property in a superb location. In no way an issue for us but something to be aware of - the stairs are very steep and the parking quite tricky. One night we were unable to find any parking and had to abandon the car returning to it before 8am when parking restrictions began again to drive around in the hope of finding a space.
