This delightful cottage makes the perfect romantic retreat for couples or a great bolthole for small families. Wander down to the Southwold Pier, less than a mile away, for some seaside fun – play retro 1980s games, browse for souvenirs or enjoy fish and chips. Hire a bike (or bring your own) and cycle round to Walberswick Ferry (3 miles) and then back along the Southwold seafront. Right in the centre of Southwold, you’ll see the round white tower of the lighthouse just a mile away. Climb up the 113 steps of the spiral staircase for great views from the top.
You’re spoilt for choice in this lovely holiday escape with two separate sitting rooms on the ground floor. One is a snug-style room with a cosy sofa and TV, while the main lounge has lovely wooden floors, a feature fireplace, and cushy, comfortable seating. There’s another TV and a desk here, too. This open-plan lounge/diner has a cottage-style table and four chairs, and a door to the courtyard. The streamlined kitchen has everything you need if you’d like to cook, and there’s a utility area for appliances with a door to the courtyard. The beautifully tiled bathroom is on this level, too. Up fairly steep stairs, you’ll find the restful main double bedroom decorated in muted tones, with ample storage and a TV for cosy lie-ins. The charming second bedroom, with small double, also boasts a TV.
Outside, the garden path to the front door is flanked by lawn and shrubs, while at the rear you’ll find an enclosed courtyard garden with outdoor furniture.
