The village is known for its quaint thatched cottages, impressive church and friendly pubs. Along the coast is the famous red and white striped Happisburgh Lighthouse as well as a gorgeous sandy beach. Attractions include East Ruston Old Vicarage Garden, the Museum of the Broads in Stalham and BeWILDerwood Norfolk (all within 12 miles). You can also explore the 125 miles of the Norfolk Broads, with Hickling Broad to the south (7.5 miles). Heading along the coast you can visit the thriving village of Mundesley, the lively seaside resort of Cromer or spot the seal colony near Horsey Gap (all within 14.5 miles).

Stepping into this tasteful and inviting property, the fresh and spacious lounge is a lovely space to settle back and unwind. With plenty of seating and a Smart TV, you can snuggle up to watch a movie in the evening in front of the toasty wood burner. For the chef of the group, the generously-sized kitchen has plenty of worktops and a variety of useful equipment including a microwave, fridge/freezer and a range oven with electric hob set in a lovely brick surround. The light-filled conservatory features a daybed, TV and comfortable seating, making a pleasant spot to catch up with a good book or chat about the day as you look out over the surrounding garden. At the end of a great day out, head along to the sleeping quarters where you will have a choice of three sumptuous bedrooms. The first is an elegant bedroom for two with a stunning four-poster bed, carefully chosen boudoir furniture, TV, feature fireplace and a stylishly decorated en-suite bathroom with a slipper bath, a walk-in shower with fixed rainfall head and handheld attachment, plus a WC. The second bedroom is a lavish velvet king-size room, also with a TV should you fancy a late-night movie, and the third room is a colourful, pretty twin room with a TV and wrought-iron twin beds. This delightful property also features a stylish family bathroom complete with a bath, separate walk-in shower and a WC.

We really enjoyed our stay at Phoenix cottage. It had everything you would need for a family holiday and had a relaxing feel about it. Situated adjacent to the church it was in a very peaceful location. Although the property is situated on the lane that leads to the local pub, this did not cause any issues whatsoever. There is a beach a few minutRead morees walk away, across fields at the rear of the pub, which is very pleasant. Parking of two cars is possible but getting in and out of the driveway may be challenging for some, especially if you have a larger vehicle. I would certainly recommend Phoenix cottage for anyone wanting to visit this part of Norfolk. Hide

Had a lovely stay. The cottage was so spacious and cosy. Having a telly in every room was a bonus. The location was perfect, you dont hear anything and so close to the beaches. The little convenience store was so cute selling local crafts. Would recommend a trip to Horsey Gap to see the seals. Only 20mins away. Cottage ideal to recharge the batteRead moreries and go for lovely walks Hide

Absolute WOW in every room. Had everything we needed, we cooked most days, and even a roast. The rooms are so much more spacious than the photos show. All curtains are top quality, letting in no light. The beds are very soft, luxurious bed linen, felt like a great big hug. We prefer a harder bed, but after some wonderful nights sleep may have to Read morerethink our own bed. The welcome cakes (best I've had) and wine were wonderful. TVs with Netflix in every room. Great wifi, phone signal not so good, but expected when so deep in the countryside, we phone people on WhatsApp so no problem, even better just keep off the radar. Location fab, beautiful village, 5 min walk from sea and large sandy beach, church at end of garden, pub a 1 min,(10 step) walk. The large wrap around garden was a joy in the winter, would be even better in the spring/summer. Plenty of room for the 6 (and dog) of us to be together and our own space. Would highly recommend. Loved every minute. Hide
