Property code: OC-BOW259

This cosy, sleeps-eight house on a working farm boasts lots of relaxing spots and excellent views over fields to Cadair Idris mountain. It's a tranquil haven for family or group getaways with no immediate neighbours - just pure countryside surroundings, which you can enjoy with up to two dogs. Despite its luxuriously secluded feel, the property is only one mile from the seaside town of Barmouth, where you can walk over the panoramic-view bridge or, if you’re visiting during the peak holiday season, catch the charming steam train over the bridge. Spend time on Blue Flag-awarded Barmouth Beach, stroll the promenade with an ice cream in hand and relish group dinners at the pubs or restaurants. Fancy a day trip with the kids? Ride the ferry from Barmouth to the seaside village of Fairbourne, where they can play in the amusements.

Return to your cosy farmhouse, where the decor is bright and delightfully unfussy. Settle down in the lounge on the comfy sofa by the wood burner or in the cushion-strewn bay window that frames lovely green views. Prepare dinner for all in the kitchen that boasts an AGA, a stools-included breakfast bar and trendy pendant lights. There’s also a utility area with handy additional worktop space. Tuck in at the four-seater dining table beside a log burner; the room also features another cushioned bay window for more guests, where you can take in the vast views. If you need to work or even just relish some quiet time, take yourself to the office where there is a workspace with a table and chairs plus additional soft seating. The ground floor is complete with a shower room featuring a WC. Climb the handcrafted, wooden spiral staircase (which may not be suitable for anyone with mobility difficulties) to the first floor, where there’s a master bedroom that can be arranged to your choice thanks to the zip-and-link beds, either as a king-size or twin room. Enjoy the luxury of an en-suite with a shower over a bath. There’s another room with zip-and-link beds that can be arranged as either king-size or two singles, plus an en-suite shower room. The final first-floor bedroom has two single beds. You’ll never be short of space as this floor boasts two more shower rooms with WCs, as well as a bathroom (accessed via steps) with a bath that has a big window beside it so you can soak as you look at the sky and swaying trees. Pass through the landing to the studio lounge, which is one of the many house highlights with its comfy seating, cosy log burner and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Cadair Idris and the surrounding mountains so you can enjoy the countryside whatever the weather. Slide open the doors to the garden to enjoy the fresh, rural air from the comfort of your sofas. Climb up the wooden spiral staircase to the second floor, where you’ll find the final bedroom, a king or twin depending on the zip-and-link bed arrangement, with windows showcasing those excellent countryside views.

Make the most of the holiday home’s surrounding countryside by relaxing across the three outdoor patio areas with garden furniture, so you can sit, enjoy the tranquil setting, and unwind.

Great location. We were able to drive out to coed y brenim and walk over the hill onto Barmouth. Big rooms and amazing glass lounge area. Also there is a BBQ to sit outside on the sunny days. Thank you.

Fabulous location, peaceful and beautiful views. Nice large property with plenty of space, great for exploring Barmouth and Snowdonia. Steep walk to town/shops. Some attention to detail would make it a more comfortable stay but we had a wonderful time.

We would definitely recommend this property, very peaceful and spacious, and great to have so many bathrooms in one property, we had a fantastic week and looking to book for next year.

Positives first. Brilliantly located with absolute quiet guaranteed- other than the birds and wind in the trees. Plenty of space for people to spread out indoors and bathrooms all over. Kitchen well fitted apart from 1 small fridge which had no room for all our food and drink. While the location was good for us you either need to use your car or beRead more fit enough to walk very steep paths to get in and out of town. The walks from the house are stunning but again you need a level of fitness as theyre all up and down. Be careful of the 2nd hump in the drive as it can scrape underneath the car, I was in a Volvo V70 which is fairly low. The house itself had a few points which should be addressed apart from the fridge. While theres an outdoor table and bench set there was no comfortable seating to relax and enjoy a book or the views - we had a family of 3 Sea Ospreys soaring in front of us every day. The patch of grass in front of the door was overgrown and untidy and the gravel sitting area had plenty of weeds - nothing major but just gave the impression of not caring and it looked a bit tatty. There were also a few minor cleanliness issues indoors. We had a great week and it is an amazing location, great walks and peaceful while only being a few minutes car journey or 20/25 minute walk into Barmouth. Hide
