Wake up to the sounds of the birds singing in the trees in this rural bolthole for two in the heart of the Suffolk countryside. The holiday home is set in a small hamlet and is perfect for those seeking a slower pace of life, surrounded by nature. A string of footpaths and quiet country lanes branch away from the cottage, providing ample opportunities for walking or cycling. The River Deben passes nearby, and many of the footpaths weave their way alongside the water. The ancient market town of Framlingham is just 4.5 miles away and makes a lovely day out. Spend a quiet afternoon pottering around its independent shops and boutiques, and eating delicious local produce in the cafes and restaurants. After lunch, wander up to the 12th-century castle on the hill (which was the inspiration for former resident Ed Sheeran’s famous song) to admire the fantastic views across the town. Alternatively, for a day at the beach, head to the coast where you’ll find the traditional seaside town of Aldeburgh (15 miles).
The cute cottage is set across one level and has a vibrant and eclectic interior, creating a truly unique backdrop to your holiday. Artwork and cute accessories adorn the walls, making the cottage feel homely and inviting. Striking armchairs sit next to the Smart TV in the cosy lounge/diner, where a roaring wood burner provides a gentle glow in the corner of the room. There is also a sweet table and chairs for sharing a romantic dinner for two. The compact kitchen has been carefully arranged to ensure you have everything you need to rustle up delicious meals and light snacks. When it’s time to say goodnight, retire to the peaceful king-size bedroom, which boasts relaxing rural views. A stylish bathroom completes the cottage.
The property’s piece de resistance has to be its magnificent outdoor area. Directly outside the cottage, there is a gorgeous patio, with seating under a pergola and a BBQ for al fresco dining. A sweeping lawn leads down to the River Deben, where you’ll find a charming bistro set for sitting with a glass of wine and listening to the water. During the summer, if the mood takes you, you can choose to sleep in the romantic bell tent at the bottom of the garden.
