An enticing period cottage, this pretty, three-storey bolthole in Wells-next-the-Sea makes a great seaside retreat for a small family or two couples, including those wishing to bring canine companions. Sleeping four guests, it also welcomes a duo of dogs, and nestles in the vibrant heart of the coastal town. Step straight out to shop for local produce, browse in boutiques and galleries and ponder a while in cafes and restaurants. Amble less than 50 metres down to the quay to watch the boats coming in and out with the tide. The magnificent, sandy beach is about 1 mile away, or you can travel a little further afield to spectacular Holkham Beach too, 3 miles from the cottage.
Take a couple of steps up and open the front door to find yourselves in a lovely lounge/diner, with understated decor and a wealth of cottage character. Put a log in the wood burner during colder weather, then watch the Smart TV or dine together at the table as you bask in the wonderful heat of the fire. Make your way through to the kitchen to prepare meals with the delicious produce you have bought from nearby delicatessens and greengrocers, finding all the equipment you need has been provided here. A handy washing machine for your swimming costumes and towels can be found in an outbuilding. Venture up the steep, winding cottage-style stairs to a king-size bedroom and the family bathroom or head on up to the second floor to discover another king-size bedroom, with zip-and-link beds that can be arranged as 2’ 6” twins if discussed at booking. There is also a family shower room up here.
Take your morning coffee out into the courtyard on fine sunny days or even have breakfast at the table out here. This is where the outbuilding is located with storage and the washing machine.
