This traditional detached brick cottage holds a unique setting, overlooking the tidal River Alde towards Snape Maltings and its famed concert hall, ideal for a couple or small family discovering the wonderful Suffolk coast. Snape and the Maltings concert hall are best known as the central venue for the Aldeburgh Festival, started by renowned composer Benjamin Britten. However, this pretty village, at the head of the tidal estuary, is a popular holiday venue in its own right and the perfect base for exploring this unique area of the Suffolk Heritage Coast. There are excellent walks from the doorstep, along the riverbank to RSPB and Wildlife Trust reserves, as well as three pubs close by. Visit the picturesque coastal village of Thorpeness (6.5 miles) and stroll its streets lined with mock-Tudor houses or take a rowing boat out on the beautiful Meare, a man-made lake with Peter Pan-themed islands to explore. Nearby Aldeburgh (6 miles) is a seaside favourite, where you will find all your local amenities, small supermarkets, and many fantastic pubs and restaurants.
Warm and welcoming on arrival, this cottage represents an authentic taste of rural living. Entering into the well-appointed kitchen/diner, the low beamed ceiling is supported by feature brick columns which divide the space. The cosy sitting room is home to a comfortable sofa, a feature fireplace and glass patio doors opening onto the garden. A steep staircase winds to the first floor, where you will find two delightful bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king sized bed and boasts lovely views out over the garden and river beyond. The attractive second bedroom has a double sized bed. The shared bathroom can be found adjacent.
Outside, the flower-filled cottage garden is full of hidden corners with outdoor seating and a gorgeous rose pergola, the ideal space to relax in this idyllic riverside setting.
