Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom abode is set in the coastal village of Orford, which sits on the River Alde and is known for its magnificent castle and picturesque quay. From the quay, catch a ferry over to the National Trust’s Orford Ness Nature Reserve, with its habitats for rare birds and intriguing military history. Plan days out to Snape Maltings, 5.5 miles away, to browse in shops or see a concert in the famous hall. Head to Aldeburgh, 11 miles away, with its independent outlets, eateries and shingle beach, or Thorpeness, 12 miles away, with its boating lake and sand and shingle beach.
Follow steps down to enter the house at ground-floor level and wander in to find a quirky interior with unusual and eclectic items of furniture to complement the style of the building itself. The kitchen/diner is a good size, with ample space for a dining table and everything you need to help you whip up tasty meals. Floor-to-ceiling windows bring the light streaming into this space and sliding doors allow it to be opened up on to the garden. This room flows into the lounge, where guests can sit on comfortable seating as they play games, watch the Smart TV and bask in the heat of the wood burner. Internal stairs lead up to the first floor, where there is a king-size bedroom, with a desk for home working. This room also has an en-suite shower room and French doors on to a courtyard. There is a utility room and family shower room at the level too. Two more bedrooms are on the top floor of the house. One of these is a super-king, with zip-and-link beds that can be made into twins on request and sliding doors on to the glass-fronted balcony. The other bedroom, a king-size with en-suite bathroom, also has doors on to the balcony which looks out towards the river.
Guests at this property can relax outside on the balcony or in the large, landscaped garden, with its lawn, dining area and hot tub.
