Outdoor enthusiasts should head to the Isle of Purbeck (5 miles) for countryside walks, cycling, rock climbing and water sports, or to Durlston Castle and Country Park (2 miles) for superb walks along the coast and through wildflower meadows and woodlands.

The property is set in a Victorian house and has a private entrance accessed by a side staircase. The open-plan lounge and dining room includes comfortable seating, a dining table and chairs for six, and an ornate fireplace housing an open fire. Lovely maisonette in Swanage that was well suited to us. Location was very good - very short walk to the centre/beach front. The kitchen needed a bit more attention to cleaning - but nothing that couldnt be easily fixed! The linen and towels were all clean and mattresses very comfortable! Additional bonus of having two toilets. Well equipped Read morewith a smart TV, washing machine (with dryer included in machine) and drying racks for clothes. The place has a coffee machine as well as a kettle, so we were all happy in the morning. The double bedroom on the top floor has a sea view from the left side of the window, and you can also see the sea when stood on the balcony outside. There are quite a few steps to climb if your bedroom is on the top floor, but wasnt a problem for us. Parking is on-street parking so limited to if there is a space or not. We parked in a nearby car park and payed 50 to park there for the week (seemed easier to us than to hope for a space on the road each day). Overall, we had a great stay, and would definitely choose this accommodation if we came to Swanage again!! Hide

Very convenient location albeit partway up a steep hill. A characterful property with a nice welcome box of goodies. Outside space is very limited but that wasn't a problem as the Downs and the seafront are nearby.

This was awarded a hidden gem certificate and very rightly so. The rooms were all very beautiful and restfully decorated. The location could not have been better for accessing the town and the walks nearby, thankfully lower down the hill for strolls back from the pubs and restaurants late in the evening. The kitchen was perfect for the dogs to sleeRead morep in at night and a well contained garden to be able to let them off lead. We had plenty of activities and sights to see each day but all of us enjoyed spending the penultimate day lounging around the house reading and relaxing. Hide
