Offering the best of both worlds, this modern holiday home is located in the rural, picturesque village of Henham yet only 7 miles from Southwold Beach. This small but picturesque village prides itself on its community spirit and has even earned its place in the Sunday Times ‘The 50 Best Villages in the UK’ list. With its thatched-roof houses and pretty, maintained gardens, it’s easy to see why this village made the list. Potter around and soak up the atmosphere before popping into the friendly local pub for a drink and a natter. A short drive away (around 7 miles) is the seaside town of Southwold, where you can explore the pretty beach which is framed with colourful wooden beach huts. There’s a popular pier here too where you can sit and enjoy a cup of tea whilst watching the crashing waves, and a stunning lighthouse which dates back to 1887 and stands proudly overlooking the harbour. This area boasts plenty of footpaths which you can walk along or cycle, to discover beautiful scenery and spectacular wildlife.

Every single detail has been carefully considered in this breathtaking contemporary home, style and luxury simply exudes from each room. The open-plan living/dining/kitchen area provides an example of great design with the lounge area partially sectioned off to reveal a comfortable space with soothing sage green sofas, modern furniture and a wall-mounted TV. From here, the sweeping space leads to an impressive dining area with a large table and benches backed by a stunning art piece on the wall. The sleek kitchen, whilst minimal in style, features everything you will need for your unforgettable self-catering break. The bi-fold doors in this space, open out to reveal a patio area with seating and magnificent countryside views. The ground floor also houses a double bedroom which has been beautifully designed in modern style with a subtle nod to the coastal location. Upstairs, there are a further two rooms: one twin room with zip-and-link beds) and a master king-size room with modern four-poster bed, en suite bathroom, mood lighting and a stunning private terrace with stunning countryside views. There’s a shared bathroom on this floor with a shower over the bath and WC.

When the sun is shining, head out to the garden area where there’s a sheltered veranda with outdoor seating. A gorgeous spot for alfresco dining with a pizza oven and BBQ available to use.

If you want a lovely setting that is modern with a quality feel, but rural and peaceful No3 The Barns fits the bill. Nothing to fault overall we had a great stay

We loved staying at 3 Long Barn. Its located just a short drive from Southwold, Walberswick and Aldeburgh, plus there are plenty of other places close by to visit. The accommodation was stylish, spacious and warm. With lovely views, comfy beds and a very well equipped kitchen. No 3 is a lovely, warm holiday home. It is clean and cosy, and very beautiful. We enjoyed our stay very much. We loved sitting outside looking out at the view of the fields in the evenings. Lots of wonderful tourist places like Southwold and Dunwich Heath are very easily accessible from this house.
