This terraced cottage is centrally located in the charming market town of Beccles. Tucked away on a quiet residential track close to the River Waveney, it offers peace and quiet but is also within a few hundred metres of the town’s amenities. The historic town has much to offer visitors with a great range of independent shops, pubs and cafes. It also has a wonderful award-winning outdoor swimming pool, Beccles Lido, as well as a range of boating activities to enjoy on the river. Medieval Beccles lies on the Suffolk/Norfolk border and is on the edge of the Broads National Park, so there are plenty of great walking routes to enjoy along the riverside and beyond. Just 10 miles away is the Suffolk Heritage Coast with its many fine beaches, pretty towns and villages, and plenty to see and do.

The end-of-terrace cottage is set on a quiet lane where a step down takes you to the front door. Once inside, guests enter directly into a cosy open-plan living area with wooden floors and exposed beams. The comfortable sofa faces an electric wood burner and there is a dining table to one side below the front window. Towards the rear of the house is the compact kitchen, along with access to a courtyard. The modern family bathroom is also on this level and features a walk-in shower and a WC. Upstairs, guests will find the two bedrooms; an ample double room and a single, both with storage space.

To the rear of the home is a small, fully fenced-in courtyard complete with chairs and a table. This is a lovely spot to enjoy your morning coffee in the open air or relax on a sunny afternoon with a cool drink in hand. There is a further small patio to the front of the home, also set up with a bistro table and chairs.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 double, 1 single
  • 1 shower room with a shower cubicle and WC
  • Electric oven, induction hob, microwave, Hotel Chocolat Velvetiser, coffee machine

The cottage is fine for two or three people. It is close to Beccles and its attractive town centre. Beccles itself is not far from Norwich, Southwold, Aldeborough and other attractions of East Anglia. The parking was not brilliant but we managed to find somewhere each evening.

A cosy, homely cottage in a quiet location ideal for walks by the river and also near to the centre of Beccles. It was a really good base from which we were able to explore the Suffolk coast and the bus stop which was just five minutes away proved very useful. Lovely cosy cottage which was very well located for the town, Big Dog ferry, canoe hire and lido. We appreciated the welcome pack on arrival and the table and chairs outside to sit out in the evening sunshine.

The cottage has a damp smell which is disguised by a dehumidifier, but is too noisy to keep on. Courtyard isn't private or dog friendly if you have a small dog. Also building work going on down drive which was noisy.

We absolutely love Puddingmoor Cottage. This is our second stay and we wouldn't change a thing. It feels like a home away from home and is in the most perfect position for both relaxing and exploring. Everything is perfect and we would love to know the manufacturer of the really comfortable mattress! We will be back!

Lovely cottage very close to the centre of town, well equipped and provided with instruction manuals for the equipment and information about the town and surrounding area. Beccles is a great place to stay, very dog friendly. We had a little trouble finding the cottage - read the instructions they send and it's easy!
