Escape to the country in this gorgeous rural retreat. Sleeping three guests, the property makes a great romantic bolthole or base for a small family. Spend your days at the beach or on The Broads. The cottage is set in a quiet location, in the pretty village of Southrepps. The village pub is just 0.5 miles away and you can enjoy strolls along Southrepps Common from your front door. You’ll be perfectly placed for daytrips to the seaside, with Cromer, Overstrand, and Mundesley all within 10 miles. The long-distance Norfolk Coast Path is a great way to explore and can be joined at any one of the beaches. Alternatively, step back in time and explore by steam train. Hop on board at Sheringham (11 miles), and journey through breathtaking coastal scenery to the Georgian town of Holt. There are some excellent local attractions nearby, too, including Blickling Estate (9 miles) and Felbrigg Hall (5 miles).
The beautiful cottage is warm and inviting, with characterful exposed beams and brickwork. The decor is calm and neutral, and care has been taken to complement the cottage’s original style with traditional furniture and accessories. The cosy lounge is the ideal place to unwind after a long walk, with comfortable seating arranged around a Smart TV and a roaring wood burner set inside a fabulous inglenook fireplace. Books and games are also provided. From here, a glass door leads into the peaceful conservatory, where you’ll find stylish rattan seating. This sunny spot overlooks the garden and is a lovely place to enjoy a coffee and catch up with the morning papers. Completing the ground floor is the spacious, dual-aspect kitchen/diner. The light and bright space has chic units, parquet flooring, striking exposed beams running across the ceiling, and a dining table and chairs. The bedrooms are located upstairs: the first is a spacious king-size overlooking the garden, and the second is an inviting queen-size. The stylish family shower room completes the first floor, with a raised walk-in shower and step down to the WC.
Outside, a tranquil haven awaits. The large garden has a split-level lawn – perfect for four-legged guests – and a sunny, south-facing terrace, where you can enjoy outdoor meals on summer evenings. Beautiful blossom trees are dotted throughout the garden, providing natural shade, and there’s a wild area that attracts a whole host of local wildlife.
