Located in the picturesque village of Lythe, this charming cottage is guaranteed to provide a relaxing holiday stay. Lythe is only a mile from the seaside resort of Sandsend, and 4 miles from Whitby. It’s close to numerous coastal towns, villages, and beaches, including Runswick Bay, just 4.5 miles away. Drive inland to enjoy the craggy beauty of the North York Moors with unlimited walks, 4 miles from the property. Built at the top of a hill, Lythe has a church and castle grounds (Lythe comes from the Scandinavian word for slope), and a pub to revive yourself after a long walk. Just south of the village is Mulgrave Castle, built in 1200. The Cleveland Way passes through Lythe with dramatic coastline, rural scenery, wild moorland and pretty villages waiting to be explored.
From the entrance area, a quarry tiled floor takes you to the large, light kitchen/diner with plenty of space for everyone to get together. The entrance area has coat storage and a nod to the local church with a pretty church pew. A double glass door leads to the lovely living room, with sofa space for six, a TV and a gorgeous feature inglenook fireplace with wood burner, perfect for evenings in. Stairs from the lounge go to the first floor, encompassing two bedrooms – one with a double bed, one with a set of bunk beds – and a family bathroom. On the second floor is the spacious master suite/adult retreat. There’s plenty of room to relax, with a two-seater sofa, and a Juliet balcony for enjoying the view. You are also treated to a spacious en-suite shower room with double-size cubicle.
To the right of the main door, a set of double doors lead to the utility room – with more dining chairs if needed. There’s also a small, paved courtyard at the front of the property with seating.
