Explore the Norfolk countryside from this charming, thatched cottage located in the quiet village of Edingthorpe where rural pursuits such as walking, cycling and horse riding are highly encouraged. The ‘Quiet Lanes’ network from the village offer wonderful routes right from the village for a true taste of countryside living. A must-visit for a stay in the area is The Broads National Park (11.5 miles), where guests can choose from an array of activities such as nature trails, kayaking, boating or simply making the most of the natural beauty with a picnic. The National Park can be accessed by taking a scenic small gauge railway trip from Edingthorpe which is an enchanting experience in itself.
Having been built in 1996 by an artisan builder based on a traditional template, this cottage mimics the history of the village, with bold exposed beams being the central focus of the lounge/diner giving the room a cosy, traditional feel. In this room, there is plenty of seating, with two sofas around the warming wood burner and a dining table for four. The kitchen is compact but has all that is needed to cook up a meal, as well as a stable door to one end to access the garden. Again, exposed beams in here give a really traditional feel to the property. On the first floor, there is a pretty twin bedroom with wooden floor and a family bathroom featuring a shower over the bath. The final bedroom, a double, sits at the top of the property, under the eaves and is simply furnished for a restful night's sleep.
The outside of the cottage is just as delightful where you can see the chocolate-box cottage in all its glory. At the front and rear of the cottage there are pretty, flourishing gardens with climbing roses, fruit trees.
