Comprising an annexe of a substantial, thatched, 17th-century longhouse, this property has been modernised and thoughtfully appointed to ensure guests enjoy a reviving break in the beguiling Devon countryside. The market town of Holsworthy, 7.5 miles, has a great range of shops, cafes and restaurants, as well as a pannier market on Wednesdays. Only slightly further afield, the picturesque fishing village of Clovelly is just 10 miles away, and ever-popular Bude, with its endless beaches to suit surfers, dog walkers and romantic escapers, is just 15 miles away and over the border in Cornwall.
After an energetic day exploring, this holiday home provides real retreat and relaxation. The ground-floor lounge/diner is a cosy room with a striking beamed ceiling, a lovely sofa and recliner, an electric stove and a dining table and chairs. On this floor there’s also a bright galley kitchen and a contemporary bathroom with both a bath and a shower. From the lounge, a spiral staircase leads up to the first floor and into an open-plan super-king-size bedroom where French doors lead out onto a delightful private balcony with patio seating.
In addition to the private balcony, guests have access to wonderfully landscaped grounds and two further patio areas, the first simply furnished with a smart patio table and chairs, and the second accessed via French doors from the lounge, a private area with a hot tub, BBQ and further seating. Make the most of the secluded location and minimal light pollution and enjoy an evening meal – or even a dip – under the stars.
