This characterful, coastal cottage in a lively village on the Jurassic Coast is an excellent base for a family or group of friends who want a seaside holiday with plenty to do nearby. The village of Beer is home to numerous independent shops, excellent eateries, a long shingle beach and coastal walking paths. If you’re feeling adventurous, visit the 2,000-year-old Beer Quarry Caves (1 mile), hike up to Whitecliff observation deck (0.5 miles) or explore the Bomb Shelter (less than 0.5 miles). Just around the corner is the town of Seaton (1.5 miles), where you can find more beaches, a tramway and a golf club.
Stepping inside the porch, you’ll find space to hang up your jackets and take off your shoes to make you feel at home. Continue into the bright and homely open-plan living/dining room which has a relaxed coastal theme. Walk across the original wood parquet floor to the lounge area and relax on one of the soft sofas or the armchair surrounding the wood burner. Get competitive with your guests with one of the family board games, or make the most of the Netflix on the Smart TV. The dining area of the lounge is on the other side of the room with a table and chairs to seat six. Inside the spacious ‘U’-shaped kitchen are farmhouse-style wooden countertops for preparing home-cooked meals for your guests. Wake up in the mornings and kick off your day with an indulgent Delonghi filter coffee and frothy milk. Adjoining the kitchen is a utility room with a spare fridge to hold any extra refreshments and hanging racks for any wet swimwear after a long day at the beach. Additionally, here you can also find fishing nets, bodyboards, a windbreak and portable tables to borrow on a day trip. The final room on this floor is ‘The Captain's Cabin’ with a porthole mirror and WC. Climb the stairs to reach the first floor, where you’ll find three bedrooms and a family bathroom. The master bedroom is an elegant space with warm tones, a feature fireplace and a romantic feel. From the king-size bed, you can admire views across Beer to the sea and beach. The king-size bed in the master bedroom is a zip and link bed that can be separated into two single beds if required. Inside the second bedroom, there is a double bed with another original feature fireplace. The third bedroom has a single truckle bed with a pull-out underneath it and delightful views across Beer to the sea. Unwind in a bubble bath in the tranquil family bathroom where there’s a rainfall shower head and hand-held shower over the bath.
To the front of the property, you will find a fully enclosed patio area surrounded by flower beds with a table and chairs for enjoying a relaxing evening dining alfresco. Help yourself to the culinary herbs planted in the garden for your cooking or to enjoy in teas.
