No matter where you stand, this 500-year-old character cottage exudes charm and offers an unforgettable place to stay in the heart of rural Snowdonia. The property is just a short walk from the banks of the Llyn Celyn reservoir (0.5 miles), a place for wandering around and admiring the scenery. From the nearby market town of Bala (7 miles) you can head to Bala Lake (7.5 miles) to try your hand at kayaking, paddle boarding and so much more, or you can simply take a circular stroll around the waterfront and finish your afternoon off with a bite to eat in Bala itself. The nearby Tryweryn Trail boasts a pretty pathway along the River Tryweryn, head to the National White Water Centre (3.5 miles) to find a great starting point and watch thrilling white water rafters as they’re whisked along the water.

Pairing traditional features with up-to-date accents, it’s clear to see that immense attention to detail has been put into updating this historic cottage. The beautifully decorated ground floor offers a wonderful space to cook, eat and unwind throughout lazy mornings or cosy nights in. The farmhouse-style kitchen boasts colourful cabinets and all of your necessary cooking equipment, whilst the next-door dining room has been installed with a dining table set for six and a TV for your entertainment. Step through into the ever-inviting lounge with cushy seating solutions and a large stone fireplace with an open fire set in. Here’s the perfect spot for letting the warmth of the fire wash over you as you reminisce about good times past. Finally, a multi-function boot room and ground floor bathroom complete the offering of the ground floor. A single flight of stairs leads up to the first floor where the bedrooms can be found. Two similarly laid out bedrooms boast double beds, plenty of storage and their very own TVs, whilst the third and final bedroom is made up as a king-size with zip-and-link beds offering additional versatility.

Soak up the great outdoors as you step outside and enjoy the property’s garden. Laid to gravel and fully enclosed, this space offers a wonderful spot for evenings alfresco with great food and even better scenery. After dinner, fire up your hot tub and be sure to take a dip.

Had a lovely stay at Ty Hen! Very remote and tranquil but only 20 minutes drive to Bala. Nice evenings in the hot tub and good facilities in the cottage, heating efficient and nice views all around.

A well equipped cottage with comfortable furniture and beds. Beautiful setting out of the way but close to things to do. Good quiet walks from the cottage. Unfortunately it felt a little unloved and our hosts didn't introduce themselves despite being next door, which may suit some people.

We had a lovely time at Ty Hen. The location was perfect, the stream running outside sSO relaxing and the hot-tub was one of the best we have been too. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others, although the fire situation was dissappointing.

We had a fabulous stay at Ty Nant. It was a picturesque cottage with everything we needed for a relaxed break away with the kids. We enjoyed the hot tub, walks and playing board games.

Wonderful place to stay. It was stormy weather but the cottage was very cosy and homely. Hot tub was an amazing feature and ready to use on arrival.
