Spend time at Carsington Water, 5 miles away, where you can fish, hire bikes and try water sports. Head into Wirksworth, 5.5 miles away, to potter in colourful shops, dine out in a pub or café and see the famous StarDisc black granite sculpture, which maps the northern hemisphere’s night sky.
