This beautiful stone-built barn conversion, set on a working farm amongst rolling hills 6 miles from Dolgellau, is an idyllic bolthole for two. Alongside far-reaching views of Cadair Idris, the barn comes with an open-plan living area and hot tub, ideal for recharging after a long day spent exploring South Snowdonia.
The barn has a wonderful homely feel, with contemporary furnishings and colour schemes filling bright and airy rooms that have been arranged to make the most of the space available. The open-plan living area is cosy without feeling claustrophobic, the perfect setting for indulgent meals at the dining table and film night snuggles on the L-shaped sofa. There is plenty of room in the king-size bedroom, which includes a sofa bed that’s ideal for youngsters. The bathroom is a colourful place for soaking tired limbs, but for a real feast for the senses, the hot tub outside offers panoramic countryside views across the surrounding mountains. For enviable al fresco dining, make the most of the BBQ, chiminea and pizza oven.
The market town of Dolgellau (6 miles) is the starting point for many walking trails and cycle paths, with Precipice Walk, Mawddach Trail and Coed y Brenin Forest all worth exploring. To see Snowdonia from a different perspective, the views atop Fawddwy, Aran Benllyn, Rhobell Fawr and Cadair Idris (all within 10 miles) are worth a memory card each. The market town of Bala (13 miles) is the home of Llyn Tegid, Wales’ biggest lake, a popular destination for water sports lovers, who can also be found at the nearby National White Water Centre.
