The characterful holiday home enjoys a quiet location in the small village of Milfield, on the northern edge of Northumberland National Park. The property sleeps four guests and is perfect for small families and couples looking to get away from it all, surrounded by spectacular countryside. As you’d expect, the area is awash with a wide range of walks to explore. Circular walks branch away from the village, leading to Ford Moss Nature Reserve, Lanton, and Yeavering Bell. The village is also at the foot of The Cheviots, where you can experience stunning hillside walks and breathtaking views across Northumberland National Park. Just 5.5 miles away is the attractive market town of Wooler. Here, you’ll find a fantastic range of independent shops on the bustling high street, as well as a great choice of pubs, cafes, and restaurants. If it’s fresh, sea air you’re after, head east. A 21-mile car journey will bring you to the picturesque town of Bamburgh, where you can investigate the imposing castle on the cliff, wander along the pristine white sand on the beach, and enjoy long walks along the Heritage Coast.
The accommodation is arranged across one level and the main living space has a bright, open-plan layout comprising a lounge/kitchen/diner. Beautiful, exposed stonework gives a warm, rustic feel and a dramatic vaulted ceiling with stunning exposed trusses brings a sense of grandeur to the room. A cosy wood burner in one corner adds a gentle glow in the evenings. Spend your days relaxing on the comfortable sofas next to the Smart TV, cooking up a storm in the vibrant kitchen area, or sharing delicious home-cooked meals around the large, wooden dining table. At night, retire to one of the gorgeous bedrooms. The first is a king-size with French doors opening to the outside area and peaceful countryside views. The second is an inviting twin, with a delightful, exposed beams and statement wallpaper. A spacious family bathroom completes the accommodation.
To the side and rear of the property is an immaculate enclosed courtyard. This space is a real sun trap and is a fabulous place to enjoy a spot of al fresco dining around the table on a warm, summer’s afternoon, or a little wildlife watching in the surrounding fields.
