When you’re not busy strolling the country lanes around Great Plumstead, head into Norwich and take a walking tour of the cathedral (5.5 miles). Check out the ancient tombs, see the 6th-century bishop's throne and gaze upon the striking 315-foot-tall spire – the second highest in England. Alternatively, browse the works of Picasso, Giacometti and Henry Moor at the city’s Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts (9 miles), or let the kids run wild on the rope bridges at BeWILDerwood (9 miles). Alternatively, head to Great Yarmouth (18 miles) to wander along the Golden Mile’s promenade. Stay until the evening and you’ll see the seafront lit by twinkling decorative sails all the way from Britannia Pier to the Pleasure Beach.
