A charming, stone cottage, this inviting holiday property makes a comfortable base from which to explore Derbyshire. In an elevated position above the Amber Valley and Ashover, 4.5 miles from Matlock, the one-bedroom retreat sleeps two guests and is perfect for anyone eager to explore the Peak District. Venture 5.5 miles to the edge of the national park, with its myriad opportunities for walking, cycling and climbing. Drive 9.5 miles to visit the impressive, Tudor stately home of Haddon Hall, or 4 miles to see the beautiful Lumsdale Waterfall near Matlock, then afterwards head into the town to go shopping or dine out. Chatsworth House, 9 miles away, with its beautiful gardens, is another must while you are here.
Make your way inside to find a welcoming, open-plan lounge/diner where you can relax together after your long walks on comfortable seating, in front of your favourite boxset or a film on the Smart TV. This room also has a dining table, for quiet meals together, conveniently positioned close to the entrance to the modern kitchen. The kitchen is well-equipped to ensure you can prepare homecooked meals, and has a door onto the outside space. Upstairs in a gallery bedroom (with sloping ceilings and limited headroom) there is a king-size bed. There is an en-suite bathroom up here too.
The cottage opens onto a tiny courtyard area to the front of the property, with a loveseat, where you can relax with a hot drink or something fizzy and take in the beautiful views.
